Family, early years

Elena Borisovna was born on July 21, 1934. The family lived in Moscow. Elena's father was a famous actor of the Moscow Art Theater, died on stage. Mother also worked at the Moscow Art Theater, he was an artist of the vocal and drama group of the theater. Elena's aunt is an actress of the Vakhtangov Theater. The girl literally grew up behind the scenes.

Elena studied excellently at school, she received a gold medal. Then she entered the studio school at the Moscow Art Theater, and after that she graduated from the Shchukin School.

Creative career

In 1954, after graduation, Elena was taken to the Vakhtangov Theater, where her aunt worked. They often took part in one performance together. Dobronravova has successfully established herself as a dramatic actress. The most famous productions with her participation: "Mocking my happiness", "Hamlet", "Foma Gordeev". Theater director Simonov Ruben noticed her talent, trusting the main roles.

Dobronravova made her film debut in 1954. The audience remembered her for her leading role in the movie "Big Family". The work was awarded with an award at the Cannes Film Festival. Subsequent roles were less significant, although Elena played them at a high level. She starred in the films "The City Lights the Lights", "Workers' Village", "The Golden Echelon" and others.

The actress could play the main roles in the films "The Cranes Are Flying", "The Officers", which have become legendary. However, the director of the first film gave preference to Tatiana Samoilova, believing that her appearance is more suitable for the role of the main character. In the second case, Dobronravova was removed from the role due to conflicts with the director. She constantly intervened in the creative process, believing that others should consider her opinion on the concept of the film.

When Simonov Ruben, the director of the Vakhtangov Theater, died, Elena began to decline in theatrical activity. The new director, Ruben's son, gave the actress only minor roles. Dobronravova worked at the Vakhtangov Theater until 1999 - until the end of her life. In recent years, she suffered from depression, became withdrawn. The actress died on January 24, 1999, she was 66 years old.

Personal life

In life, Elena Borisovna was very observant, had a good sense of humor. She was considered a phlegmatic, strange person, the actress loved solitude. However, if she needed something, she could achieve it.

Dobronravova drove a car perfectly, she took lessons from professionals. The actress did not like to do household chores, the housekeeper helped her with the housework.

Shim Eduard, a writer, became Elena Borisovna's husband. The spouses often talked with famous people of creative professions. Later, the marriage broke up. Dobronravova never got married, she had no children. In recent years, she has lived alone, supported by her colleagues and acquaintances.
