The Italian actor Alessandro Preziosi found himself in the world of cinema and theater unexpectedly: at one event he was seen by a director and invited to play the role of Laertes in Hamlet. At that time, Alessandro began to build a career as a lawyer, and did not even think about the theater. But he liked the first experience.
Today Preziosi plays a lot in the theater and manages to act in films. In addition, together with a colleague Tomasso Allegrini, they created the Khora Theater, in which they stage mainly classical plays. The theater troupe is supervised by the Adricesta charity foundation, which provides assistance to children with oncology.
Biography
Alessandro Preziosi was born in 1973 in the town of Avellino. We can say that as a child, he studied all of Italy, because his parents often moved. Both of them were lawyers, and after graduating from school, the son followed in their footsteps.
In Naples, he graduated from the Faculty of Law of the local university and began his career at the University of Salerno as an assistant. A clear prospect of becoming a good lawyer opened up before the young man, but director Antonio Calende thought differently. He saw the natural artistry, grace and aristocracy of a young man, and could not resist offering him to his performance.
Slightly confused Alessandro took everything very seriously, and decided to get a profession at the Milan Academy of Amateur Drama. His debut in the role of Laertes was brilliant, and he was finally convinced that his future should be associated with the theater.
Career
Theatrical critics enthusiastically received the young actor, but TV directors also wanted to get him in their projects, and in 1999 Alessandro appeared in the TV series Life in Italian. After the closure of the project, he returned to the theater again.
Preziosi's next experience in the series happened in 2002 - he played a noble earl in the TV series Eliza of Rivombroz. It was an unusually beautiful project in which the audience saw the Italy of the eighteenth century and the love story of a count and a servant. This role brought the actor real fame and love of the audience.
Thanks to the project, Alessandro and his partner Vittoria Puccini became national stars and received the prestigious II Telegatto Prize. And the directors were not going to refuse to cooperate with the charming actor: the next role of Preziosi was the role in the film "Vanilla and Chocolate" (2004). He played a womanizer who thought only of himself, leaving his wife and children to fend for themselves. Then the wife decided to teach him a lesson: she left the family, leaving the children for the woe-daddy. And her experiment was a success.
One of the most successful projects in Preziosi's portfolio is the series "Commissioner De Luca" (2008). He received recognition from the Venice Festival, and Alessandro's work was also highly acclaimed.
After this film, it became clear how versatile Preziosi is. He played heartthrobs, unlucky businessmen, homosexuals. And in 2016, thanks to the series Medici: Lords of Florence, he gained international fame, playing the role of the sculptor Filippo Brunelleschi.
