The State Tretyakov Gallery is a world famous art museum with a rich collection of paintings by Russian painters, as well as ancient Russian icons. The gallery includes a whole complex of buildings in Lavrushinsky Lane near the Tretyakovskaya metro station, and on Krymsky Val, near the Park Kultury metro station. In addition to the main profile of its activity - the demonstration of works of art to Muscovites and guests of the capital - the gallery conducts lecture and educational work.
In the 2012 - 2013 season. gallery visitors are offered a choice of a program consisting of 38 subscriptions, each of which includes the opportunity to attend several lectures on topics that are most interesting to listeners. For example, the subscription "A Brief History of Russian Art" includes lectures on the development of Russian culture from the 11th century to the present day.
Any listener can choose the most suitable lecture program for himself - from an entertaining, popular science format to an in-depth, serious study. There are special lecture programs for middle-aged students and for parents with children. This season, a new program - "Meeting with a specialist" has been included in the list of subscriptions. Its listeners will be told in detail about the peculiarities of the professions of museum workers, as well as about various problems of art history.
Lectures are delivered either in the gallery's lecture hall at the address: Lavrushinsky lane, 12, 1st floor of the Engineering building, or in the conference hall on the 2nd floor of the same building, or in the conference hall on Krymskiy Val (Krymskiy Val, 10, 3rd floor). The sale of season tickets and the formation of groups is carried out twice a year - in May and November. Thus, people who have not previously purchased subscriptions, but plan to attend lectures in February, March and April next year, will have to buy a subscription during the coming November. If visitors wish to attend lectures in September-October of the current year, they can do so by purchasing a subscription for 900 rubles (500 rubles - excursion service + the cost of entrance tickets to the gallery).
