Sergey Mavrin is a famous Russian rock musician, leader and founder of the Mavrik group. Talented guitarist, composer, songwriter and performer. For a long time he performed in the group "Aria".
Biography
In 1963, on February 28, the future rock musician Sergei Mavrin was born in the city of Kazan. From childhood, the boy began to love music. Perhaps it was the fact that there was a conservatory next to the house where the Mavrins lived. Sergei's dad worked in law enforcement agencies and, due to official necessity, in 1975 he and his family were forced to move to Moscow. Two years before the move, Sergei was presented with his first guitar.
During his school years, Sergei heard on the radio the program "Voice of America", on the air of which the famous compositions of the Deep Purple group were sounded, and this became a defining event in Mavrin's life. Inspired by the sounds of hard rock, he independently converted the acoustic guitar he had received as an electro guitar. After that, he began to actively hone his skills, using the repertoire of his idols. After graduating from school, Mavrin applied to the school for the specialty of a locksmith. Along the way, he received musical practice in a group from Yuri Galperin.
Career
In 1985, after demobilization, Sergei Mavrin joined Dmitry Varshavsky's group "Black Coffee". In the same year, a group with a young musician in the composition went on a tour of the Soviet Union. After 6 months of working with "Black Coffee", Mavrin decided to create his own group, which existed for a little over a year.
In 1987, the still little-known group "Aria" invited Mavrin as a session musician to record the album "Hero of Asphalt". Later, the team, together with Mavrin, recorded two more albums. Thanks to his fruitful work in the famous rock band, the guitarist developed his own style of playing the guitar, which he later called "mavring". In 1994, the first split occurred in the team, due to which the vocalist Valery Kipelov left the group, Sergei, out of solidarity, left after him. Mavrin and Kipelov worked together for six months performing cover versions of songs by foreign rock bands.
In 1997 Mavrin together with Kipelov recorded the album "Time of Troubles", and a year later Sergey created his own team "Mavrik" and started working on new material. To record the first records, Mavrin invited vocalist Arthur Berkut. Since the beginning of the 2000s, the guitarist has changed the name of the group and now “Sergey Mavrin” flaunts on the cover, under this label the group has recorded 7 albums. Since 2010, the musician has re-branded again and today the group is called "Mavrin".
Personal life
Sergey Mavrin is a faithful and devoted husband. He almost never parted with his wife Elena. The couple have no children yet, but, according to the musician himself, everything is still ahead. Sergei pays great attention to charity, he often helps shelters for homeless animals and calls to protect nature.
