During his lifetime, Yuri Sorokin was a famous Soviet actor who first gained fame thanks to his role in the cult film "Officers". Unfortunately, his acting career was not entirely successful, most of the films with Yuri's participation did not gain the proper popularity.

Biography

The future actor and director was born a year after the end of the Great Patriotic War. The city of Khabarovsk became the homeland of Yuri. Since childhood, he had no prerequisites to devote himself to creative activity. The boy's father held one of the leading positions at the local railway station. The mother devoted her life to medicine.

When Sorokin was studying in a regular secondary school, there was news that there was a shortage of artists and film directors in the Soviet Union. After listening to these statements, the young man decided to connect his life with acting.

At the age of 17, Yuri decided to move to Moscow, as he managed to take an honorable place as a student at the Gerasimov State Film School. In a new place, the guy was led by the most influential and competent specialists of that time.

Film career

After graduating from a higher educational institution, Yuri passed military service in the army. After a year, he immediately began looking for film projects that could potentially bring the young and talented actor to fame. At first, he managed to get minor roles in films, which later did not advance in any way in Soviet cinema.

The first motion picture, which was able to bring fame to Sorokin, was "Officers". In this film, he played the role of a young guy who linked his life with work in the military sphere, set himself the goal of becoming an officer. Unfortunately, this film project turned out to be practically the only one in his career that reached the multimillion audience of the USSR.

It is also worth noting that most of Yuri's cult roles are associated with the army, police theme. In the future, fans of his work have repeatedly noted this.

Directing activity

At the age of 37, Sorokin returned to the institute, which he graduated from many years ago. This time, his goal was to obtain a higher education in the field of directing. As soon as he became a specialized specialist in this direction, in the early 90s he immediately published "The Revelations of John the First Printer". This serial production did not have any success, only once was shown on the big screens of the Russian Federation.

In the future, several times I tried to achieve results in a new direction for myself, but each attempt turned out to be a failure. Having released several short films and mini-series, his hands dropped, Sorokin's career ended at an unfinished stage. The experienced actor passed away at the age of 61, in 2008.

Personal life

For the first time, as a student, Yuri married his classmate, Galina Bulkina. She, in turn, also built a career in cinema. Their union lasted for several years, after which Sorokin met the love of his life, Lyudmila Kirpichnikova became his new wife. Married to her, the actor and director spent the rest of his life. They had a son named Vadim.
