The future world taekwondo champion was born on November 20, 1984 in a sports family. Parents at that time lived in the famous city of Frunze, the capital of the Kyrgyz SSR. Father died early. The mother was seriously involved in sports. She had a black belt in taekwondo and worked as a coach of the Kyrgyz national Thai boxing team. Antonina grew up in a sports environment and, having reached the age of seven, began to attend training with her mother. After a while, her younger sister Valentina joined her. Tonya studied well at school. She knew how to rationally allocate time between lessons and sports.

Sports achievements and awards

After the tenth grade, Antonina decided to get higher education at the directing department of the Bishkek Institute of Arts and Culture. At the same time, she strictly adhered to the training schedule and fasting days. By that time, Shevchenko was already a well-known fighter in the martial arts league. She won prizes at republican and international tournaments. When Antonina was 12 years old, she won the prestigious tournament at the championship of Asian countries. It was from that moment that they began to call her the Panther. This nickname stuck with the athlete for the rest of her life.

Antonina's sports career was developing successfully. To expand the range of her abilities, she mastered the Muay Thai wrestling technique. In the late 90s, Shevchenko moved to Russia, received citizenship, and for several years performed under the flag of this country. Then she was invited to Peru. Muay Thai wrestling between women is very popular in this South American country. Antonina demonstrated a high level of training and several times became the champion of the country.

Recognition and privacy

In recent years, Antonina Shevchenko and her sister have spent most of their time in Peru. They often visit Thailand and do not forget their native Kyrgyzstan. The athlete twice became the world champion in Muay Thai. She has the gold medals of the South American and Kyrgyz championships.

The personal life of the athlete has developed well. She is legally married. Husband and wife spend a lot of time together. The couple have no children yet.
