They were applauded by the audience of large cities and small towns, and soon their duet became the most popular in the United States. When John Belushi died, many in the country mourned this sad event, especially since the artist died in his youth.
Biography
John Belushi was born in 1949 in Chicago. His parents are immigrants from Albania, they owned two restaurants in Chicago. However, none of the sons followed in their footsteps, and John was the first to refuse to become a restaurateur. From early childhood, the boy dreamed of becoming an athlete. Every free hour, he ran to the football field and drove the ball to exhaustion. His manner of playing was tough, even rude, for which the players called him “the killer”.
He was a good footballer, then became the team captain, and all his further life plans were connected precisely with football. However, Belushi could not enter the required university. Since then, the search began - where you can get an education, what to do in life. He changed several educational institutions until he received a diploma. Now it was possible to look for work.
John began by auditioning for a Chicago theater and passed it brilliantly. Probably, he himself was surprised, where does the talent of reincarnation, even comedic talent come from in the “killer” football player? However, very soon John became a leading actor in the theater troupe. He was then only twenty-two years old.
He went on stage without a shadow of excitement and felt at home there: he could portray anything and anyone. When asked how he did it so cleverly, he replied that "the stage is the only place where I know exactly what to do."
Artists are bohemian people, and they are often drawn into social life with its drinking and parties. It happened to Belushi: he started taking drugs. To them was added a copious drink. Despite this, his every appearance on the stage was brilliant, the most fastidious spectators received him with delight.
Film career
In 1973, when John was twenty-four years old, he made his debut in the film "Lemmings" - and so began his life in cinema. After that, he starred in the films "All You Need - Loot", "Menagerie" and "To the South". Also, the artist was constantly engaged in television programs, which significantly expanded the boundaries of his fame.
John Belushi toured a lot, and on one of the trips he met the comedian Dan Aykroyd. The artists immediately realized that they could make a good duet. The director Steven Spielberg also realized this, and already in 1979 he released a film with their participation under the title "One thousand nine hundred and forty-first." In the tape, the guys played the military, who looked more like idiots. The comedy picture, in which self-irony and patriotism were harmoniously combined, pleased both viewers and critics. She was even nominated for an Oscar three times, but she did not receive a single award. The best reward was overcrowded cinemas on the days of the film's screening.
Then there were the pictures "The Blues Brothers", "Neighbors", where the comedy duet was again at its best.
Personal life
John's wife is actress and producer Judith Belushi-Pisano. They met on the set, as is most often the case with actors. The couple had no children.
In 1982, John Belushi died at the Chateau Marmont. The reason was a heart attack, which happened from a drug overdose. The artist was buried in the cemetery of Martha's Vineyard Island.
