Ekaterina Strizhenova (Tokman) was born in 1968 in Moscow and was brought up in the family of a journalist and a Russian language teacher. Soon there was a grief: the father died of an illness. Mom had to put Katya and her older sister Victoria on her own. The girl, who attended various sections and circles, was soon noticed on television, inviting her to participate in the children's programs "ABVGDeyka" and "Merry Notes".
