Biography
Yuri was born into a simple working-class family of Nikolai Afanasyevich and Raisa Grigorievna Galtsev on April 12, 1961, the day when Gagarin flew into space. As the actor says, that is why his parents named him Yuri.
At school, the boy studied well, was educated at a music school in the accordion class, learned to play the guitar. In the ninth grade, the future artist began to compose his own songs.
His name should have predetermined the fate of the guy. After all, a person named after an astronaut simply had to become a pilot. However, fate decreed otherwise. For health reasons, Yuri did not go to the flight school, but entered the Kurgan Machine-Building Institute, where he created a propaganda team and began to take an active part in its activities. Already at that time Galtsev decided to devote himself to musical creativity.

After graduating from a mechanical engineering university, he went to the northern capital and entered the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography. While still a second year student, he began performing at the Buff Theater. After graduation, he worked in the theaters "Farsy", "On Liteiny", "Litsedei". He played in such performances as "Ball of Thieves", "Black Cat", "Nadezhda Station", "Gahan and Friends", "Striptease", "Three Musketeers", "Waiting for the Wind", "Catastrophe", "Doctor Pirogoff "," Assistant "and others. And in 1999 the actor founded his own theater called "UTYUG" (Yuri Galtsev's Universal Theater).
