Anton Vasiliev is a domestic film actor. Before the audience, he often appeared in the form of charismatic, interesting characters. However, he gained real popularity by playing the gallant law enforcement officer Pavel Semyonov in the multi-part project "Nevsky".
On April 8, 1984, in Leningrad, in the family of a teacher and an engineer, a child was born who was destined to become a popular actor. As a child, Anton did not even think about connecting his life with cinema. But first he began attending a theater club (thanks to this it was possible to skip classes officially), and then he entered the Theater of Youth Creativity (a girl who liked Anton performed there).
In the theater, he not only went on stage, but also worked as an assembler. Then there was a breakthrough in his career - he became a stage machinist. In major performances, our hero did not receive the main roles, but he became closely acquainted with theatrical life.
After leaving school, Anton Vasiliev decided to listen to his parents, who advised him to go to a lawyer. However, I could not cope with the entrance exams - I failed math. And I had to go to college to get rid of the army.
The choice fell on the St. Petersburg Academy. There are several reasons for this. First, he wanted to become an actor. Secondly, there was no need to pass mathematics on the entrance exams. I managed to enter on the first try. Educated under the guidance of an experienced mentor Benjamin Filshtinsky.
For the first time, he went to the theatrical stage during his studies. The audience could watch his performance in such productions as "The Inspector General", "Romeo and Juliet", "Yu". The aspiring actor performed at the educational theater on Mokhovaya Street.
The first steps
A career in cinema cannot be called impetuous. Anton got his debut role during his studies. He appeared in a minor episode in the popular serial project "Streets of Broken Lanterns". It is worth noting that in this series he starred again after a few years, but in a different way.
At the time of graduation from the academy, Anton's filmography included several projects. However, he starred mainly in small episodes. But the main role was not long in coming. Almost immediately after receiving his diploma, Anton was invited to appear in the movie "The Gimp".
A few months after graduating from the Academy, Anton was invited to the Riga Theater. Our hero did not think for a long time. He almost immediately agreed and moved to Riga. He worked in the theater for only a year. Perhaps he would have worked longer, but he was robbed. The robbers even took the artist's documents with them. And it is impossible for a Russian citizen to live and work in Latvia without a passport. Therefore, I had to return to St. Petersburg.
Perhaps he would have left for Riga again after the restoration of his passport. But one after another, offers from directors rained down. After working for some time in St. Petersburg, Anton moved to Moscow, where he got a job at the 7th Studio theater. In parallel, he starred in film projects. His filmography was replenished with such films as "Hounds", "Street Racers", "Version".
He got his first leading role in a feature film project in 2013. He was invited to star in the comedy film "Classmates". Olga Medynich and Alexandra Mareeva became partners on the set. Then he appeared in the multi-part project "Alien Among Friends".
Breakthrough career
Real popularity came to Anton only after the release of the multi-part film project "Nevsky". Our hero got the main role, playing police captain Semenov. The series was so successful that it was decided to shoot a sequel. After a while, the second part came out, then the third. Today Anton is working on the creation of the 4th season.
At first, Anton turned down the role of Semyonov. He didn’t want to star in “another series about cops”. At that time, our hero worked in the theater under the leadership of Kirill Serebrennikov and was absolutely satisfied with his position.
However, Anton nevertheless agreed to star in the lead role. Inessa Yurchenko (founder of Triix Media) convinced him. She was able to convey to him the idea that the series is not at all about a cop, but about a person who constantly faces the challenges of the modern world and successfully copes with them.
The first season turned out to be very difficult for Anton. Our hero has a difficult character. He constantly argued with the film crew. The reason for the disagreement was the different views on the image of the protagonist. According to Anton, TV shows about cops are filmed according to certain cliches. And it annoyed him.
There were a lot of action scenes in the first season. And when make-up artists came up to Anton to fix his hair, he just stopped them. After all, there has just been a fight, so his hero must be disheveled. There can be no question of any styling. In addition, Anton forced make-up artists to do "knocked-down fists" every morning. He needed this as a reminder that even a simple handshake can be painful.
Thanks to this responsible and professional approach to filming, the series became very successful, and Anton became popular.
Then our hero worked on the creation of projects such as "Walnut" and "Call DiCaprio." These works have demonstrated that our hero is capable of acting in any role.
One of the latest projects was the painting "Living Mine". Anton appeared in the form of Fadeev. The story of the confrontation between the two sappers was liked not only by Anton's fans, but also by ordinary film lovers.
Personal life
Anton Vasiliev does not like to talk about his personal life. Whether he has a chosen one or not is not known for certain. Even if he is married, the wife's name is carefully hidden not only from fans, but also from colleagues on the set.
Anton has his own Instagram account. But the actor has repeatedly stated that he is a closed person. And uploading photos is hard for him. What can we say about communicating with fans. Still, Anton understands that he is a public person. Therefore, he found a rather elegant way out of a difficult situation - his younger brother leads his Instagram, who uploads photos and writes posts on his own.
