Did the local authorities decide to build a hypermarket on the territory of the forest park or demolish an architectural monument for the sake of building a gas station? It is difficult for ordinary people to resist these actions. But you should at least write a letter of protest.
Instructions
Step 1
Find as many like-minded people as possible who are willing to openly sign the protest letter. Make an appeal to the media, leave informational messages on social networks, if possible, make a separate page on the Internet, post announcements on poles, walls, entrance doors, etc. (if it is not prohibited), walk around the apartments. Try to enlist the official support of prominent political and public figures, human rights defenders, and cultural workers.
Step 2
Decide on the addressee of your letter. Do not overdo it and do not "jump over heads." If you are protesting about the proposed opening of a beer hall opposite a school in the town of Malye Chernushki, you should not immediately contact the President of the Russian Federation or the United Nations. To begin with, it will be enough to contact the head of the district or the mayor of the city.
Step 3
Compose the text of the letter. Specifically, clearly and reasonably state your demands, accusations and grounds for protest. Refrain from insults and obscene language. Arguments like "Ivanov is a goat!" and "They are all crooks!" is unlikely to help you. Arm yourself with expert opinions, the results of sociological research, etc. Describe the possible unpleasant prospects that you think the phenomenon or action you are protesting might entail. At the same time, do not allow any direct threats. Especially do not threaten with riots and physical violence. Remember that even if you intend to organize a protest action in addition to the letter, this action must be carried out in accordance with the norms of the current legislation. Otherwise, you will simply end up behind bars.
Step 4
Sign the letter of protest. In addition to the full surname, first name and patronymic, the signature should also indicate the occupation, length of service, etc. For example: "Ivanova Varvara Petrovna, teacher, writer, member of the Writers' Union of Russia, co-chairman of the Public Committee" In Defense of the Family ", Berdyaev, Russia." Or “Petrova Marya Timofeevna, 3 years old, mother of two children, housewife”. All signatures, of course, must be authentic. Especially the signatures of famous people, otherwise your protest will only lead to a scandal with legal proceedings at the end.
Step 5
Send the letter to the addressee. It will be very effective to send the letter in an open way - that is, publish the text of the protest letter in the media in order to attract the attention of as many citizens as possible. Only in this case you can be sure that the authorities will not at least ignore your letter. Determine further actions based on the reaction received from the authorities to your protest.
