Childhood and youth
Among the graduates of the Literary Institute there are people who never became poets. There is nothing reprehensible in this. It's just that the inspiration has run out and there is nothing to be done about it. Mark Freidkin did not receive specialized education. He composed poetry without any theoretical training. And he not only composed, but also transferred them to music. I shifted it myself, and sang it myself. Someone liked these songs. Someone remained indifferent. Mark was never offended. The future poet and translator was born on April 14, 1953 in an intelligent Soviet family. Parents at that time lived in the Tajik town of Khujand, and worked after the institute for distribution at the school. My father taught physics and mathematics. Mother - Russian language and literature. The boy grew up and developed in a favorable environment. I learned to read early. In a short period of time I reread all the books I found in the closet. Easily memorized poems and melodies of songs. When his sister appeared in the house, Mark sang lullabies for her.
Creative activity
When the child was five years old, the family moved to Moscow. Here Mark went to the famous school number 9, where he studied English in depth. Freidkin studied well. He took part in public events and amateur art shows. In high school, he regularly attended a literary studio that operated at Moscow State University. Within the walls of this studio there were not only beginners, but already well-known poets. Bella Akhmadulina and Andrei Voznesensky shared the secrets of their skills with young talents.
After school, Mark decided not to continue his studies, but to "make" a biography for himself. He realized this life scenario one hundred percent. Freidkin described in detail the first stages of his life in the stories "Notes of a Marriage Swindler", "Hospital Arabesques", "From the Memories of a Jewish Loader". Mark learned to play the guitar as well as other bards. Among the authors-performers, he was not one of the last daredevils. In the 90s, he was warmly greeted in Germany and the USA, where the bard came to give concerts.

Mark devoted a lot of time and effort to translating poetry from French and English. In recent years, he has been actively involved in songwriting. I recorded albums. He performed at concerts. His songs were performed by Andrei Makarevich, Maxim Leonidov, Alena Sveridova and other Russian pop stars.
