Taxi reform has been discussed by the authorities since 2010. Several projects were created, on which there were serious discussions. The first changes in this area were made already in 2011. And finally, the law on taxi should be formed by 2015.

In September 2011, one of the first taxi reforms took place. The laws for this area of activity have been tightened. Under the new rules, each car must be equipped with identification marks, a taximeter, receipts to confirm payment and information about tariffs. The organizations themselves must obtain a license that will be valid for 5 years. Another innovation is that taxi companies can only work if they have their own cars.

The latest change hit the wallets of the founders of the business especially hard. After all, companies used to work with taxi drivers who have their own cars. Now organizations are forced to seek funds to replenish (and sometimes create) their park. It is unrealistic to manage with one or two machines, i.e. owners have to purchase at least two dozen cars. And this is only for small firms. Well, directors of large organizations, respectively, need to buy from one hundred to three hundred cars.

But the changes in the taxi industry are not over yet, there are even more global innovations ahead. Some organizations fear that the law will be even harsher. And for this reason, they suspend their activities. Also, some taxi drivers have been retrained. In order not to risk earned money (large fines are imposed for violations of the law), many have changed their field of activity. Taxis in various cities faced the problem of staff shortages. Naturally, citizens also suffered, because now you can wait for a car longer than, for example, a year ago.

Every law is getting tougher and harsher. And, most likely, the cost of travel and the duration of waiting for the car will regularly increase because of this. This is one of the most striking consequences of the reform, which will be seen by all people who use taxis. Each resolution practically forces both taxi drivers and business founders to invest in their business. And, of course, in order to at least reach self-sufficiency, carrier companies increase tariffs.

Changes will also affect the appearance of cars. In the near future they will be painted the same color. The salon will also undergo changes: the taxi driver will be obliged to hang in a conspicuous place information about the organization, personal data and telephones of dispatch services. In addition, navigators and devices for reading bank cards will appear inside the salon. Perhaps the license plates on the cars will turn yellow.

Also, most likely, the taxi market will be divided into two segments. The first will consist of inexpensive cars, possibly only domestically assembled. The tariffs for such carriers will be the same for each locality. The second segment will consist of premium cars, and the cost will vary depending on the car brand and the distance of travel.
