Biography
Luc Besson was born in 1959 in Paris, France. His parents were diving instructors, traveled extensively and explored the world with their son. From childhood, Luke wanted to continue the work of his parents, explore the depths of the sea and devote his life to the seas and oceans. But fate decreed otherwise. The parents divorced, and the boy felt lonely. And when Luc Besson was seventeen years old, in one of his scuba diving classes, he made an unsuccessful dive, because of which he almost lost his sight. He lost the opportunity to do what he loved.
After the divorce, things went badly in the family. Besson cannot afford expensive ways of self-expression, moreover, he cannot decide on a future profession. He considered all his desires and skills and decided that he could become successful in the film industry. But there was no money for film technology, so seventeen-year-old Luke simply took a notebook and a pen in his hands and began to compose stories. Already at the age of 17-18, Luc Besson created a draft of the script for one of the most successful films of the 20th century - "The Fifth Element".
For some time, Luc Besson worked as an assistant director in Hollywood, then, after a three-year break, during which he served in the army, he returned to Hollywood with renewed vigor and aspirations, where he devoted himself to big cinema. In 1983 his first full-length film "The Last Battle" was released, in which one of the main roles was played by Jean Reno.
The famous French director has been married four times. The first time he married in 1986, the main actress from his film "Nikita" - Anne Parillaud. A year later, they had a daughter, Juliet, but four years after her birth, the couple broke up. In 1992, Luc Besson married Maywenn Le Besco, who gave birth to his second daughter. But in 1997, the director began an affair with Mila Jovovich, and Besson parted with Le Besco. Unfortunately, the third marriage to Jovovich ended in divorce just two years later. But his fourth marriage to Virginia Silla, his current wife, gave him three children: two daughters and a son.

Among the most famous works of Luc Besson can be distinguished his work as a producer in the series of films "Taxi", in which there are already five parts, an action movie of four parts and the mini-series of the same name "Carrier", three parts "Hostage", the film "Colombiana". He became the director of one of the universally recognized films of the 20th century "Leon".
In 2006, he was the head of the project for the adaptation of the book "Arthur and the Miniputes", and then several of its parts. He dedicated the results of his labor to his children.
One of the most recent and successful works of the French filmmaker is the 2014 film Lucy, starring Scarlett Johansson and Morganov Freeman. Currently, work is underway on its continuation.
In total, Luc Besson, a successful director without special education, has produced about 90 films, worked on 60 scripts and directed 28 films.
