Kevin Levrone is a professional bodybuilder from the United States. The peak of his career as an athlete came in the nineties and early 2000s. Although he has never been able to win the Mr. Olympia tournament, his name will still forever go down in the history of bodybuilding.
early years
Kevin Levrone was born on July 16, 1965 in Baltimore (Maryland, USA). His father was Italian and his mother was African American. In addition to Kevin, there were five more children in the family.
At the age of ten, Kevin lost his father. And this loss seriously influenced his further biography - it encouraged him to take his first classes in the gym.
After receiving secondary, and then higher education, Kevin created his own firm in the construction industry. Then it was hard to believe that his life would be associated with any sport.
The turning point happened when Kevin was 24. This year, doctors diagnosed cancer in his mother, and it became a terrible test for the young guy. To calm down, Kevin came to the gym and worked there with "iron" to exhaustion. Alas, the mother's illness was incurable, and soon she died.
The main sporting successes of a bodybuilder
After the death of his mother, Levron went headlong into powerlifting and bodybuilding. And already in 1990, he won his first competition as a bodybuilder (it was the state championship). And in 1991 he won the national amateur championship and received a professional card of the IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness).
Then Levron began to win one title after another - he became the winner of such tournaments as "Night of Champions", "Arnold Classic", "San Francisco Pro", "Toronto Pro", etc. In total, Levron managed to get 21 IFBB medals, and this achievement has not yet been surpassed.
But the title "Mr. Olympia" never submitted to him. Although the jury gave him second place in this tournament four times - in 1992, 1995, 2000 and 2002.
Kevin Levrone from 2003 to the present day
In 2003, Levrone took part in the Power Show Pro competition and took third place there. After that, he announced that he was ending his career as a bodybuilder in order to engage in creativity - to play in a rock band and act in films. And in the end, he did star in several films. Kevin Levron himself can be seen, for example, in such films as Talking Dolls (2005), Death Chase (2006), Need for Speed (2007), I (2010).
However, Kevin could not completely say goodbye to his favorite sport, and after a while he returned to training. It is known that in 2016 Levron again participated in the Mister Olympia tournament and took 16th place here. And in 2018 he appeared at Arnold Classic Australia. In this competition, he became the thirteenth.
In addition, Kevin Levrone has long been the manager of two training rooms in his native Baltimore. In them, he organizes bodybuilding competitions every year. All proceeds from these competitions go to a charity to help sick children. This foundation Levron founded in memory of his father and mother.
It is also worth adding that in recent years, the famous bodybuilder travels a lot around the world and meets his fans. In 2017, he also visited Russia. During this visit, Levron visited several Russian cities (Moscow, Tambov, Ufa, Novosibirsk, Omsk). And in each of these cities, he held open trainings and presented the products of his brand "Kevin Levrone Signature Series".
