Andrew Cunenen is an American serial killer, his victims were five people, one of whom is the famous fashion designer Gianni Versace. The series of murders lasted from April 27 to July 15, 1997.
Biography
Andrew Cunenen was born on August 31, 1969 in National City, USA, into a large family. Was the fourth and the last child. Andrew's father is a naval officer, after the end of his military career he worked at the stock exchange.
Education
Andrew studied at the regular school Bonita Vista, since 1981 attended the bishop's school, where Kyunenen met his best friend Elizabeth.
Andrew's teachers and classmates said that Kyunenan was a very quick-witted and sociable boy, his IQ during his school years was 142 (this figure is above average). As noted by peers, he was a skillful liar, telling stories about his family and personal life.
Future life
In 1988, Andrew's father left his family and moved to the Philippines to avoid paying debts.
The relationship with his mother was tense. When a deeply religious woman found out that Andrew was gay and became a frequent visitor to various gay clubs, she threw a tantrum. During the abuse, Andrew pushed his mother, she hit and dislocated her shoulder, later it turned out that Andrew had an antisocial personality disorder, so he did not feel pity and remorse when he hit his mother.
In 1987, at the age of 18, Kyunanen entered the University of California, American History Department, lived with his best friend Elizabeth and her boyfriend.
Criminal life
Andrew Kyunenen began killing on April 27, 1997. He first killed his friend Jeffrey Trail. The killer beat Trail until he lost consciousness and died, and then wrapped the carpet over his body and left him in that position.
The next victim was the former lover Andrew David Medson. Kyunenen shot him in the head with a pistol stolen from the first killed and left him on the bank of the river. The murder was committed on May 3, 1997.
The third victim is 72-year-old Li Miglin. The killer wrapped his limbs with duct tape and stabbed him with a screwdriver, cut his throat. Kjunenen committed this murder the day after the second, May 4, 1997.
Andrew also shot his next victim. After killing William Reese on May 9, 1997, Kyunenan stole his car.
The famous Italian fashion designer, founder of the Versace fashion house Gianni Versace became the last victim of Kyunenen. Andrew killed Versace on the doorstep of his own mansion.
The motive for the murders was unknown and remains so to this day. It is believed that Kyunenen killed due to mental illness.
Death
Eight days after the last murder, on July 23, 1997, 27-year-old Kyunenen killed himself with the same pistol he used to shoot three of his victims: Madson, Reese and Versace.
