Galina Smirnova is capable of achieving outstanding success in any field that she chooses. The gifted artist and poet is really talented in everything. However, she was best known for her work under the creative pseudonym Kim Smirgand.
The parents of the poet and artist had a tremendous influence on the choice of the future. Galina inherited her love for drawing from her father, and a passion for literature from her mother. The elders brought up a love of creativity in their daughter.
All facets of talent
Galina Andreevna's biography began in the Kyrgyz village of Iski-Naukat in 1948. She was born on February 16. The parents moved to the town of Ust-Kut on the Siberian river Lena with a one and a half year old baby. Four years later, the family moved to Nizhny Tagil. Galya went there to a school with a mathematical bias.
The girl grew up as a child of genius. She could even handle tasks that made adults lose heart. The future poetess also demonstrated her creative approach to the most common things. In just three hours, an eighth-grader managed to remake a battered old sofa.
The girl sawed it, removing unnecessary parts in her opinion, supplemented the furniture with the necessary elements. Galya managed to change the upholstery before her parents arrived home. Adults could not believe that such a miracle was performed by their daughter without the help of professionals.
In two days, the schoolgirl created a winter coat for a classmate, who could not wear an old thing, as he was very stretched out, using the most fashionable patterns. The boy's family was in great need, so the help was accepted with gratitude. Galina perfectly modeled, cut and sewed for herself, and then for her family in the most fashionable things. She created not only stylish trousers, dresses, but also fur coats and even shoes.
She did not stop surprising others with Smirnova's creative abilities in the future. In her hands, an unremarkable eyeglass frame has been transformed into a super stylish and very original. It took several finger movements for this.
Choosing the future
The schoolgirl was taught Russian language and literature by a passionate lover of Russian poetry of the Silver Age, Raisa Dmitrievna Mader. She herself wrote exciting works about poetry, was a candidate of philological sciences. The students not only respected the teacher, they adored her. Many began to write poetry. Galina Smirnova was no exception.
Smirnova was also distinguished by her sports talents. Flexible Galya took boxes of matches from the floor with her teeth, standing on a stool in the "bridge" position. And she could do this stand herself without stopping 500 times.
The graduate completed her studies as a promising mathematician and physicist. Galina has happily established her personal life. She had two children in the family. In 1976 they all moved to Ivano-Frankivsk together. The wife was offered a job there after completing his studies. Smirnova entered the Oil and Gas Institute.
She decided to pursue further education as an engineer. Since 1977, the girl began to work in the design bureau of the city of Tokmak. Then she taught very complex sciences at the technical school, including strength of materials. Smirnov did not leave her passion for creativity.
Since 1978 Galina Andreevna began to professionally deal with portraits. The talented woman did not leave poetic experiments either. She became famous under the name Kim Smirgand. Her works were published in many publishing houses.
Unique compositions
Tautograms, acrostics and even puzzle verses became a characteristic feature of Smirnova's work. When writing, the author often uses little-known concepts, turning his works into experimental ones. The poet not only masterfully masters the gift of speech, the concept and feeling of language. They have merged with excellent abilities in combinatorics, mathematical science.
The connoisseurs call the wreath of her sonnets-tautograms "A knot for memory" the highest achievement. This collection was included in the "CIS Book of Records". It turned out to be the only canonical example of the chosen genre of sonnets from tautograms of its kind. Each word of such a verse begins with one letter. You cannot use others. Moreover, this is the longest wreath of tautogram sonnets. The first line of the second sonnet was the final line of the first, and the first lines of all 14 works were collected in turn in the final sonnet.
"Wreath" is also acrostic. The first letters in each line make up a new one, called the "Smirgand knot". This is beyond the power of anyone else in the world. And the number of words for certain letters is often extremely limited. At the same time, the rule of alternating rhymes with female and male endings has never been violated. The author never uses primitive rhymes. At the same time, the works are easy to read and interesting.
There are acromesotelestikhs among the works. There are very few such works in Russian poetry. Usually the authors write them without rhyme, and the poetic version proposed by Smirnova is recognized as a real breakthrough in versification. In one composition 6 more lines are “hidden” vertically.
Silhouette portrait art
Fine art was also distinguished by originality. Galina created her masterpieces not with pencils or paints, but with scissors. The silhouette portraits of Smirnova are carved with photographic precision.
She does not first draw the future work with a pencil. The work is ready in a couple of minutes.
She perfectly succeeds in this genre of portraits of restless kids, unable to sit still even while photographing. In addition to the characteristic features of the model, the work conveys her mood and even facial expression.
Galina Andreevna managed to give new life to the almost forgotten art of carving silhouette portraits, to improve it.
