Julia Belyaeva is one of the most successful Estonian epee fencers, multiple medalist of the World and European championships. She studies under the guidance of her own aunt, part-time an experienced trainer, Natalia Kotova.
Biography
Early period
Julia Belyaeva was born in the Estonian city of Tartu on July 21, 1992. The girl showed interest in physical culture from early childhood. From the age of six, Julia studied folk dances and choral singing. Later I started going to sports camps. Belyaeva was accompanied everywhere by her mother's sister, Natalya Kotova. Even then, she was considered one of the best fencing trainers in the region. It was thanks to aunt Natasha that Yulia's sports destiny was predetermined. At the age of 8, she was already skillfully controlled with a sword.
Career
The first years of training showed that, if desired, Julia can achieve high achievements. The girl was ready to practice every day, demonstrated good technique and efficiency.
In 2012, at the European Championships in Legnano, Yulia Belyaeva, working in a team with Irina Embrich, Christina Kuusk, Erika Kirpu, was awarded a bronze medal. A year later, in Zagreb, the girls improved their performance, having achieved the gold dignity award.
2013 brought another victory. At the World Championships, Julia made it to the final and confidently bypassed the famous Anna Sivkova, who plays for Russia.
New success - in 2015 in Switzerland at the European Championship the Estonian team, which included Yulia Belyaeva, won silver.
In the summer of 2016, at the European Championships in Torun, the athlete showed a high level of sword skills, helped her team to take the gold medal in the team tournament.
The next year was especially successful for Yulia. At the World Championships, the Estonian won a bronze medal in the personal sword. She repeated her success at the European Championship.
At the world championship, she brought the first gold medal in the team championship in the history of her native country. After this event, Belyaeva was recognized as the best athlete of the year. All Estonia is proud of this girl even now.
In 2018, Julia became the third in the individual tournament and in the team championship of the European Championship for the second time in a row. With this, she won the respect of even more fans of fencing.
Currently, Julia continues to build a sports career, but also has time to engage in education. She studies at the Tartu Medical School. Even the girl's close friends do not undertake to say whether Belyaeva will work in the future by profession.
About the present and the future
Yulia Belyaeva is still focused exclusively on sports. The girl has very little free time. She prefers to spend it on education and travel. The champion does not advertise her personal life, but she has repeatedly admitted to reporters that she dreams of a big family, where children will certainly go in for sports.
