Alexander Zuev was born in Kazakhstan. Starting from preschool age, he started playing football. Until school age, the young man did not have a normal coach, since children's football was not so well developed in this region. Studying in the first grade, he was enrolled in the section of the "Tobol" club, where Rafik Oganesovich Balbabyan acted as a coach. Trained on the club's field until the family moved from Kazakhstan to Russia. In Chelyabinsk he was invited to play in the local school team "Academy".

In 2008, the talented young football player was noticed at the regional tournament of the children's football league and was invited to study and play as part of a team from the Chertanovo education center under the leadership of Mikhail Burenkov. The young man wanted to play for Spartak, but there were no places there and he agreed to the proposals of the leaders of Chertanovo. In the same year, Alexander moved to Moscow, and the family remained to live in Chelyabinsk.
