What epithets are not awarded to Asma al-Assad - the wife of the President of Syria. She is called by various names: "America's most beautiful enemy", "desert rose", "first lady of the underworld" and the like. And she just lives and serves her country, not paying attention to the attacks of the Western press.
Biography
Asma was born in 1975 in London, where her parents moved from Syria. Their family is a representative of the Sunni clan, in their country they lived in the city of Homs. In England, her father worked as a cardiologist, and her mother was a former diplomat.
It is clear that a girl from such a family received a good education. First there was a girls' school in London, then King's College and finally the University of London with a degree in computer technology. She also studied French literature at the university.
Asma's first place of work after receiving her diploma was Deutsche Bank - where she worked with clients. Then in New York, she was engaged in a merger in J. P. Morgan. Probably, the career of a capable manager could develop further if an important event had not happened in her life: the newly elected President of Syria, Bashar al-Assad, offered her her hand and heart.
First lady
Since then, Mrs. Assad has been engaged not only in family affairs, but also in the affairs of her country. Her office is next to her husband's office, and she works very hard to improve the lives of the people of Syria.
The Syrians respect and honor their first lady. The press writes that their attitude towards Asma can be compared with the attitude of the British towards Lady Diana - she is so close to the people and so cares about the orphan and the poor. She creates more and more charity programs to help the poor. It is also due to the fact that many new free canteens and shelters for the homeless have appeared in the country.
She showed an example of personal freedom to oriental women, appearing on the TV screen without a headscarf and in a dress above the knees. At first, this shocked the Syrian nobility, but now Syrian women feel more free than before Asma began as the country's first lady.
After the war in Syria began, the president's wife left the political arena and did not appear in public. However, after her husband was accused of being a "bloody dictator", she resumed her activities - she stood up not only to defend her husband, but also to defend her desecrated country.
The beautiful, elegant woman, who before the war was called the "desert rose" and other laudatory epithets in the Western press, was and remains the first lady of Syria.
Personal life
It is clear that it is not customary to show off the life of the presidential family, but Asma freely gives interviews and is quite frank during a conversation with journalists.
From these stories, we know that she has known Bashar since childhood, because their families were friends. The future president studied in London and visited Asma's family. Her parents also did not break ties with their homeland and often visited Syria.
In one interview, Asma said that she and Bashar are just the case when childhood friendship develops into love. They got married in 2001, the wedding was very modest, we can say that it was almost a secret.
Assad's family has three children, and their parents are raising them in the spirit of love for Syria. Probably, this is how it should be in the president's family.
