The director's cut of James Cameron's Titanic is four hours long and includes 29 scenes not included in the film's release. Many of the deleted fragments add additional clarity to the plot of the film and present a separate artistic value. In 2013, 22 deleted scenes were released on DVD.

The deleted scene "First" sets the tone for the Hockley-Rose storyline, revealing in a matter of seconds the true nature of their relationship. The scenes "Brock's Dilemma" and "Down to the Third Grade" are combined into one fragment, the longest among those not included in the film distribution of the film, 6 minutes 36 seconds.

In Brock's Dilemma, Lovett tells Lizzie Calvert, Rose's granddaughter, why finding the Heart of the Ocean necklace is so important to him. The role of Lizzie is played by the future wife of director James Cameron, Susie Amis, and this scene is the most voluminous of those in which the actress participated on the set of "Titanic".

"Down to Third Grade" is dedicated to Rosa and Jack's first meeting after her suicide attempt. In Dreams of a Rose, the main character, without knowing it, prophesies her own destiny, saying that she could become a movie actress. According to the plot, after the death of the Titanic and fleeing from the family, Rosa finds her vocation in acting.

The deleted Shooting Star scene shows the final moments of Rose and Jack's evening together on the eve of the shipwreck. Jack sees Rose off after dancing in third grade, they sing a song that will accompany them on the last day - "Come Josephine, In My Flying Machine". When they see a shooting star, Rose remembers making a wish, and Jack asks what she would like. Being very close and looking at him, Rosa replies: “That which I cannot receive,” and almost immediately leaves, feeling that she has overstepped the boundaries of what is permitted in her position. This moment can be considered in the approximation of the beginning of their romance. Unfortunately, the scene was not included in the final version of Titanic.

The extended escape scene from Lovejoy, in addition to the dialogue between Rose and Jack, also contains a continuation of their journey through the engine room and a kiss in the clubs of steam, which, from a plot point of view, is a significant logical connection for subsequent scenes in the cargo hold.

From the joint scenes of Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, Titanic also did not include Playing with Ice, Farewell to Helga and Husband's Letter.

The storyline of the shipwreck is illuminated by such distant fragments as "Radio Room / Californian", "How about adding ice", "Ismay's Panic", "Mrs. Brown's Rowing School", "The Sixth Boat Will Not Return", "No Way" and "I will not come!", which reflect the behavior and motives of different people during the disaster.
