Biography
A native of the Ukrainian city of Khmelnitsky, Boris Isaakovich Spiegel was born on 1953-18-02 in a regilious Jewish family. He graduated from a technical school and served in the internal troops in Lvov. After the army and graduating in 1980 from the history department of the Kamyanets-Podolsk Pedagogical Institute named after V. I. V. P. Zatonsky (branch of the Taras Shevchenko Kiev State University) Spiegel received an officer's rank.
On this, Boris Isaakovich did not complete his education. He entered the Academy of Foreign Trade, from which he graduated in 2003, and after 2 years he defended his Ph. D. thesis on the problems and prospects for the development of Russian energy exports. Spiegel received his third higher education in 2012 at the Russian New University.
Among the scientific titles of Boris Isaakovich, one can see both an honorary professor of the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade, and a corresponding member of the Academy of Economic Sciences and Entrepreneurship of Russia, and an honorary doctor of commerce of the Academy of Economic Sciences and Entrepreneurship of Russia. Spiegel was presented with a certificate of honor of the President of the Russian Federation. Among the positions held by the entrepreneur are Deputy Director of the All-Russian Research Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology and the head of the pharmaceutical company Biotek.
Work
At the age of 19, Spiegel became a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, worked as a secretary in the city committee of the Komsomol in his hometown. Boris Isaakovich represented the Penza region in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. He contributed a lot to the development of Russian-Israeli relations and cooperation with the Knesset of Israel. Spiegel has always been against extremism, and in 2008, thanks to him, the site of the Islamists Hamas was closed. For this Boris Isaakovich was subjected to information attack by the Russian-speaking adherents of extrism, which did not cause him to renounce his political views.
Boris Isaakovich until 2005 held the presidential post in the Congress of Jewish Religious Communities and Organizations of the Russian Federation, and 2 years later he headed the World Congress of Russian-Speaking Jewry. He is also known as the chairman of the presidium of the "World without Nazism" movement.
Personal life
Spiegel's wife Boris Isaakovich runs her husband's business, Biotek. In their marriage, a daughter, Svetlana, appeared, whose first husband was the famous Russian singer Nikolai Baskov, and the second husband was the head of Naftogazmerezhi, Vyacheslav Sobolev. Svetlana also divorced Vyacheslav. Spiegel has two grandchildren, David and Bronislav.
