Biography
Robert Leonard was born in 1969 in Westwood, New Jersey. He was born into a family of a teacher and a nurse, and none of his relatives was associated with the theater. However, from a young age, Robert loved to portray everyone around him, ridiculously accurately reproducing their manners.
When the Leonard family moved to New York, Robert entered high school, followed by Fordhanm University, and then Columbia.
However, from the age of twelve he was known in Broadway theaters, and by the age of sixteen he became known as an excellent theater actor. After graduating from university, Leonard decided to devote his whole life to theater.
Film career
As a young man, Robert visited the set - he played episodes in the comedies "The Manhattan Project" (1986) and "My Best Friend is a Vampire", as well as in the TV series "The Twilight Zone".
The directors remembered the young man with an expressive look, and in 1988 Peter Weir invited Robert to the casting of the painting "Dead Poets Society". As a result, the young actor got the main role - student Neil Perry. Robin Williams, Josh Charles and Ethan Hawke worked with Robert on the set.

In parallel with filming, Leonard played in the theater and was also successful on stage: over the years he received the Tony Award.
In 2004, filming began for House, and Robert filmed all eight seasons, playing oncologist James Wilson and House's best friend. By the way, in life, Leonard and Laurie became friends thanks to this particular series. Robert dated his future wife Gabriella Salik for eighteen years, and after that the couple got married. In the acting environment, this is very rare. Moreover, Leonard's wife has nothing to do with theater or cinema - she is an athlete.
