Almost at any more or less significant festival of bardic and author's songs, you can meet Andrei Kozlovsky. This Russian singer and composer is well known both to those who like to sit with a guitar around the fire and to rockers. Andrey Kozlovsky is the author of the unofficial anthem of the famous "Grushinsky Festival" "Gori, Mountain".
Biography
Andrey Kozlovsky was born on July 9, 1959 in the city of Veliky Ustyug (Vologda Oblast). His maternal ancestors are the Lichkanovsky nobles. In 1840, Nicholas I, in the course of his administrative reform, transferred the Lichkanovsky family to odnodvorts (militarized landowners who lived on the borders of the state).
Almost a century later, in 1930, Vasily Gavrilovich Lichkanovsky, the grandfather of the future musician, was sentenced by the Judicial Troika at the collegium of the GPU of the Ukrainian SSR to five years in a concentration camp. But he managed, together with his wife Evdokia and daughters Elena and Lyudmila, to hide from police surveillance. The family left the village of Pomoshnaya and moved to Sakhalin. Andrei Kozlovsky's mother, Galina, was born already in the Sakhalin village of Tymovskoye.
Galina got married, gave birth to a son. In 1963 the family moved to Vologda. There Andrei went to school. In 1978 he entered the Leningrad Forestry Academy named after S. M. Kirov. But he did not connect his fate with the specialty he received. A year after graduating from the academy, in 1984, Kozlovsky begins his studies at the Tyumen school of welders. A year later, he received the specialty of a mechanical engineer.
For several years (from 1983 to 1989) Andrey Vladimirovich worked on a gas pipeline stretching from Urengoy to Uzhgorod through Pomary. There he was first a mechanic, then a welder.
In 1990, in the conditions of a changed state, he was forced to return to Vologda. He worked wherever and with whom he had to: as a welder and storekeeper, in trade and at the sawmill. I tried myself in entrepreneurship.
Andrey Kozlovsky got married in 1991. In marriage, their wife had two children. Almost nothing else is known about the musician's personal life.
Creative way
Andrey Kozlovsky learned to play the guitar and began to compose songs in his youth. In an interview with the Tatar-Inform news agency, he admitted that he always wrote only to "please the girls." He believes that the muse has an exclusively feminine principle, and the process of creativity cannot be put into some kind of schemes and formulas.
At the age of 16, Kozlovsky became a keyboard player in the Volna group, which performed in a club at the Vologda shipyard. He worked as a labukh at dances and weddings in the collective of Vyacheslav Kobrin. In the first year of the forestry academy, Andrei first appears on stage with his songs. In 1979 he was admitted to the Leningrad City Song Club, as well as to the club of satire and humor.
In Vologda, Kozlovsky was well known as a musician. In 1995, Viktor Kolesov invites him to play keyboards in the new Uyezd Chronicle group. Andrey was the author or co-author of the vast majority of the band's songs in Russian. The group soon changed its name and became the "Petrovich Band". She toured not only in Russia, but also in Finland and the Netherlands.
The beginning of the 2000s was marked for Andrey Vladimirovich by work in the duet "Baranov and Kozlovsky". Then he collaborated with musicians from the groups "Station Mir" and "GrassMeister".
He was awarded numerous awards at creative festivals. For example, in 1984 he became a laureate of a song contest in Leningrad. In 1986, a diploma winner, and a year later, a laureate of the Valery Grushin festival. In 1990, he was a laureate of the All-Union Festival of Artists' Songs in Kiev. Since 1995, he has been regularly invited to participate both in the competition program and in the final ("star") concerts at bard and rock festivals. Kozlovsky has repeatedly been a jury member at such events.
Andrey Kozlovsky has repeatedly repeated in an interview that he does not limit his creativity in any way and is always ready for new projects. More recently, he has voiced almost all the main songs in the animated series "The Fixies". A little later, he had seven multi-concerts.
Scandalous song
In the winter of 2019, Andrei Kozlovsky found himself at the center of a scandal. The St. Petersburg Concert Choir performed on February 23 at St. Isaac's Cathedral. The program included the song "On a Submarine, or About the Salary of Servicemen." For some of those present, the composition caused at least bewilderment. Most of the audience gave a standing ovation and asked for an encore song.
The song's plot is based on the theme of a possible nuclear strike against the United States. And since it sounded on Defender of the Fatherland Day, and even in a very noticeable place, the fact of the performance of the composition became known to a wide range of people.
Andrei Kozlovsky composed On a Submarine almost 40 years ago - in 1980. It does not and cannot have anything to do with the interaction between Russia and the United States. The author himself says that at the time of writing the text he was a student at the Forestry Academy, studied at the military department. There, half of the course was taught to be commanders of motorized rifle platoons, and the rest - navigators of military transport aviation. Kozlovsky and the guys jokingly decided that between classes it would be nice to wear robes and with dummies of machine guns not just to run to a beer stall, but in formation and with a song. There were no problems with the system, but the song had to be invented. The plot arose easily: it was simply taken from textbooks on martial disciplines, in which at that time there was only one potential enemy - the States.
After the author found out that his song was performed on Defender of the Fatherland Day, he was shocked.
“In fact, it shouldn't have been sung in St. Isaac's Cathedral, nothing good will come of it,” he commented on the situation.
But on the other hand, even those who have never been interested in a bard song, rock, or blues learned about Andrei Kozlovsky. However, the author continues to insist: one cannot take seriously a composition in which “tru-la-la!” Is repeated all the time.
