General biography

Yuri Nikulin, a Jew by nationality, was born in the Smolensk region, in the city of Demidov. While Yuri was little, the whole family went to Moscow, where the future actor studied at school 346. Yuri also began working in local newspapers, creating reprises for the circus and theater.

He studied averagely, received many comments because of his behavior. Even if he did not have the best memory, he played the comedic roles perfectly well.

After the school was just around the corner, Nikulin went to the army, where he spent seven years. He served in an anti-aircraft artillery regiment, fought near Leningrad and received a shell shock.

The beginning of an acting life

After the army, Nikulin decided to follow the parental path and build a career as a successful humorous artist. Yuri was convinced of his great future, because his father from childhood can awaken in him the talent of an actor.

In 1946, Nikulin sent documents for admission to VGIK. He was refused, but advised to go to the theater. Then Yuri sent the documents to GITIS and the Shchepkin School. They refused him there, but soon they took him to the Noginsk theater.

In the studio at the Noginsk theater, Yura did not study for long - as soon as it became known that the circus was recruiting people to work as clowns, Yuri went there. Mom was totally against it, but my father said it was worth a try. There Yura became a clown, and in 1948, on October 25, he performed for the first time.

Love

In the same 1948 Nikulin met Tatyana Pokrovskaya, with whom he lived until his death. Tatyana loved equestrian sports, and at the academy there was a stable, which the girl often visited. And then one day a foal was born with very short legs. Clown Pencil and Nikulin came to look at the foal and take him to them.

Yuri invited Tatiana to the performance, but during the performance he got run over by a horse and was injured. Tatiana, feeling guilty, visited Yuri in the hospital. Six months later, the young were married. After 8 years Nikulin became a father - they gave birth to Maksimka.

The episode with his participation became the funniest in the film, so immediately after it, Yuri Chelyukin turned to Yuri, offering to star in the film "Unyielding".

But fame came after the short film about Dog Barbosa and the extraordinary cross. It was filmed by the notorious Leonid Gaidai in the first half of the 60s. The director said that Nikulin would be best suited for the role of Goonies.

True, at that time Yuri was busy in the circus, but Leonid took this with understanding, so he corrected the filming time. After that, the film "Moonshiners" appeared, and there were other films as well.
