To learn to understand politics, you need to have an understanding of the history of the development of political thought. At the initial stage, political phenomena were formed spontaneously. People united into tribes, then the population increased and the tribes grew into nationalities, after which nations arose. All these complex processes were influenced by many factors, including the geographic location of this or that emerging state. In Egypt, despotic pharaohs ruled, in Scandinavia ruthless Vikings reigned, Hindustan was ruled by a rigid caste system of Indians. Each people created an ideal system of law and order, a state structure, to which the entire population was subordinate, and no one could object to the will of the ruler.
Read works of great philosophers
Even before our era, the great philosophers developed a theoretical basis for political science knowledge, systematizing the existing experience of government policies in Greece. Plato in his fundamental treatises "Polithea", "Laws and Dialogue", described the components of power, highlighted the structure, and also expressed the idea that the state is an expression of the idea of justice. Plato's student Aristotle continued to develop the philosophical idea of the importance of power and wrote the now widely known work "The State". In it, Aristotle continued the thought of his teacher, but he criticized some of the provisions. For example, he denied the equality of women in all matters, as Plato said about it.
Many centuries later, new measures of world political knowledge appeared. Starting from Niccolo Machiavelli, whose well-known work "The Sovereign" is still re-read by many politicians, ending with Carl Marcos, whose revolutionary thoughts formed a completely new political system called socialism.
