Not all of us know that the prayers that believers repeat daily contain the full completeness of Orthodox theology. Not all of us understand the language of prayer, and for most of us, understanding it seems like an insurmountable obstacle. But only then the prayer will be heard when a person understands and perceives it with his whole being, with all mind, with all life, with all soul, with all mind.

Step 1
If possible, participate in divine services as often as possible, because it is in the church, like in no other place, that the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit, is present, which will help you to hear and understand the words of prayers with all your heart and soul.

Stand up to full church service by listening carefully to every word. Even the famous saint, giving recommendations to those who want to learn to understand prayers, said: “Pay attention, understand and feel what is being sung and read, and this is mental prayer. There is no better way to open heartfelt prayer than to be in church, at church services."
Step 3
Purchase appropriate books from the church (bible, prayer book, etc.). Read prayers at home daily (in the morning - getting up, in the afternoon - before meals and in the evening - before going to bed). Try to read at least 1 chapter of the Apostle and the Gospel a day. Reading Scripture will help your heart and soul to hear what the Lord is saying. Every day the word of God will be clearer, it will be able to change your entire worldview, you will be imbued with tremendous spiritual strength. It is the reading of the Gospel and the Apostle that helps people, regardless of their position in society, status or gender, to enter the world of prayers, making them accessible and understandable, because the prayers are composed precisely by those who lived and breathed Scripture.
