There are often cases when a person reads the words of a prayer by heart, not paying attention to their meaning. He does this, of course, not on purpose, but because the prayer was created in Church Slavonic or another, not everyone knows, language.

Instructions

Step 1

To learn to understand the words of the prayer, devote at least one hour daily to reading religious literature. Gradually, you will get used to the speech of the clergy, which is close to the language in which the prayers are written, and you will no longer consider it incomprehensible and perceived as something unusual.

Step 2

Go to church. Since prayers, both morning and evening, are often taken from Holy Scripture, it will be useful for you to listen to the services. In addition, there is a special atmosphere in churches that allows people to feel closer to the Lord, and therefore, to understand the words of the prayer with their hearts.

Step 3

Study the Church Slavonic language. Please note that it is somewhat different from the Old Church Slavonic language. By the way, even philologists cannot always understand prayers with ease, since the ancient language has changed a lot over time, and not always for scientific reasons: in the old days, scribes, creating religious books, often made mistakes that were copied by other people, etc.

Step 4

As you read the prayer, listen attentively to the meaning of its words. Every sound you make should be meaningful. You can, of course, pray without thinking about what you are saying: provided that a person is tuned in to communicate with higher forces, this also turns out to be effective, but it is still better to combine thought, word and impulse of the soul, because the unity of these components contains a great force.

Step 5

If you do not understand the words of the prayer, or they seem alien to you, far from your perception of the world, do not say them through force: there will be no sense from this anyway. It is better to turn to the Lord in a language close to your heart: he will surely hear you. In the morning ask God to give you the strength to do good deeds, in the evening - thank Him for everything that He sent down to you, no matter if it was joy or trials: the main thing is that you are not consigned to oblivion. Know that someone who is looking for a path to the light will definitely find it.
