Courtney Bass Cox was born in Alabama in 1964. She was brought up in an extremely large family: she had two sisters, one brother and as many as nine brothers and sisters from her stepfather's side. Parents separated when Courtney was only ten years old, and her own father moved to live in Florida. Both the father and stepfather of the girl were successful businessmen.
