Until recently, domestic and foreign air carriers pinned great hopes on the pride of the Russian aircraft industry - the Sukhoi Superjet-100 passenger aircraft. The aircraft was developed by Sukhoi Civil Aircraft at the beginning of this century and was successfully tested. However, the crash of such an aircraft in 2012 negatively affected its image.

The reason for attracting increased attention to the Superjet-100 aircraft was the disaster in Indonesia, which took place in May 2012. Then the plane disappeared from the radar screens a few dozen nautical miles from the Indonesian capital. Superjet-100 performed a demonstration flight as part of an air show. Onboard there were 45 people, including the Russian crew. It was planned that the demonstration of the capabilities of the Russian airliner will continue in Laos and Vietnam, but the disaster disrupted the plans of the organizers of the demonstration flights.

A few days after the disaster in Indonesia, Aeroflot announced via Twitter that it does not intend to abandon the operation of the Superjet-100. The message states that all such planes undergo the most stringent technical inspection every day, and flights are carried out in accordance with the schedule. To date, JSC Aeroflot - Russian Airlines operates seven SSJ-100s, and the company has additionally ordered thirty more of these aircraft.

However, the troubles with the SSJ-100 did not seem to end. As reported by the RBK-daily agency, in early August 2012, Aeroflot's Superjet-100, which was flying from Kazan to Moscow, landed at Sheremetyevo airport in emergency mode. Depressurization of the cabin is said to be the cause of the incident. However, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company denies the report of the flight accident, claiming that the plane landed as usual.

In mid-August 2012, the head of Aeroflot, Vitaly Savelyev, on the air of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, said that he had no particular complaints about the Superjet-100 airliner. According to the representative of the operating organization, from time to time revealed technical failures - just "childhood growing pains" of the aircraft. It should be noted that around the same time of the year, the Armenian airline "Armavia" made a statement about its unwillingness to buy the two Superjet-100 airplanes it had previously ordered, referring to the fact that it was unable to experiment with passenger flights.
