Nikolai Morgun is a Crimean painter, landscape painter, portrait painter, master of still life. He is called "the most Russian of the Crimean artists." Morgun's works are in the museums of the Crimea, Ukraine, in the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, the Moscow City Hall, in the hands of private collectors in Russia, the USA, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Iceland, Poland and Estonia.

Biography
Nikolai Sergeevich Morgun was born on November 9, 1944 in the Crimea, in the city of Simferopol.
From 1959 to 1964 Nikolai Morgun was educated at the Crimean Art School named after I. N. S. Samokisha.
From 1964 to 1967 - he served in the ranks of the Soviet army.
In 1973, Nikolai Morgun graduated from the Kiev State Art Institute (now the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture). His teachers were: V. G. Puzyrkov, A. I. Plamenitsky, I. A. Tikhiy, V. G. Vyrodova.
From 1973 to 2001, Nikolai Morgun worked at the Crimean Art School named after V. I. N. Samokisha. Nikolai Sergeevich devoted twenty-eight years to teaching at this school. Many of his students became famous masters of Russia and Ukraine. Among his students are People's Artist of Russia Petr Kozorenko, People's Artists of Ukraine Vasily Ganotsky, Viktor Efimenko and many others.
Since 1978 he has been a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, a participant in many all-Union, republican, regional and city exhibitions. He was a worthy successor to the best traditions of the Russian classical school.
Since 1994 - Deputy for Creative Work of the Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
Since 2005 - Nikolay Morgun Chairman of the Board of the Crimean Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, since 2014 - Chairman of the Crimean Republican Branch of the All-Russian Union of Artists of Russia.

Nikolai Morgun was not only an excellent leader, but also a bright original artist, multifaceted talent, deep knowledge of the traditions of the Crimean art school, depth and subtle sense of style were combined in the works of Nikolai Morgun with high technique of execution. It is these wonderful qualities that allowed him to create a whole gallery of unforgettable works of fine art, which can be called the golden fund of the Crimean school of painting. As a successor to the traditions of the Russian classical school of painting, he devoted his work to nature, man and the beauty of the world around him. These are "Blooming Roses", "Roses on the Winter Window", "White Roses" and others. There are still lifes with lilacs and wildflowers in his collection.

Nikolai Sergeevich turned to the genre of portrait and subject painting throughout his entire career. Dated in different years, executed in different techniques, these works reflect the stages of his life and the life of the country. These are cycles of paintings dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, the post-war period, and the present. They take for the soul portraits of his mother, father and other people who have left a mark on his life.
