On July 22, 1955, the future popular artist was born. From early childhood, Vasily showed a special interest in acting and therefore, despite the persuasions of his parents to connect his life with the "serious profession of a miner", he firmly decided to enter a theater university after graduating from high school.
The legendary metropolitan GITIS obeyed Mishchenko only the second time. And between two attempts he, having shown remarkable perseverance, studied in Volgograd to be a puppeteer. In 1980, he successfully graduated from a theater university (course of Oleg Tabakov) and began to actively pursue a creative career.
It is the theatrical stage of Sovremennik that has become the second home for the famous artist since 1981 to this day. During the entire period of his theatrical activity, Vasily Mishchenko annually takes part in three or four productions. His most striking reincarnations include the classic images of Khlestakov in The Inspector General, Lackey in Balalaikin and Co, Eremin in Feedback and Binding in Three Comrades.
Vasily Konstantinovich's directorial debut begins with the play "And in the morning they woke up", staged in 2009. In 2011, Mishchenko became a Knight of the Order of Friendship for his special contribution to the development of culture and art in Russia. And since 2015, he became the head of the television and cinematographic directing workshop at VGIK.
Mishchenko made his debut as an actor in 1980, when he first appeared on the set in the film project "Rescuer", which was later awarded an honorary prize at the KF in Venice. And a year later he was acting in the crime film "Last of all" and in the comedy "Our Confession".
