Unfortunately, every year Kazakhstan loses more and more citizens who want to leave for permanent residence in Russia. More and more not only Russians, but also Ukrainians, the peoples of the Caucasus and even representatives of the titular nation want to take advantage of the relative openness of the borders and obtain Russian citizenship or migrant status.

Step 1

Step 2
Contact the passport office and notify its employees of your intention to leave Kazakhstan and go to Russia for permanent residence. Fill in the forms of documents (application, petition for issuance of a departure sheet, etc.), which will be given to you at the passport office. Pay the state fee for paperwork.
Step 3
Within 3 weeks, you must receive a departure sheet from the passport office and a certificate stating that at the time of the collapse of the USSR you were a citizen of this state that had sunk into oblivion and lived in the territory of the Kazakh SSR. In addition, you must be stamped with a permit stamp in your passport.
Step 4
Now you can go to Russia if you have housing in one of its regions. Of course, you can apply for an immigration quota and settle in the region that will be offered to you under the resettlement program of the so-called oralmans or the program to assist the resettlement of compatriots. But sometimes it is necessary to wait several years for inclusion in the quota, and assistance to compatriots from both the state and private individuals is far from accelerating. Therefore, enlist the support of reliable people in Russia in advance, from whom you can find temporary shelter until you sell your housing in Kazakhstan at an affordable price.
Step 5
Arriving in Russia, receive a temporary registration at the place of residence. After that, contact the FMS department, present your passport and fill out an application form for obtaining citizenship according to a simplified scheme. No later than in 3 months you will be able to become a full citizen of Russia.
Step 6
You can obtain Russian citizenship directly at one of the Russian consulates in Kazakhstan. However, this method is not possible for all categories of citizens, but only for those who have relatives in Russia, studied or served under a contract on the territory of our country or the RSFSR, or has great services to our Fatherland.
