Jaak Yola is a talented pop singer, very popular in the 70-80s. Born on June 26, 1950 in the town of Vildyani, Estonia. Since childhood, the boy was fond of karting and music, learned to play the flute and piano.
While studying at a music school, he became interested in The Beatles and even created his own rock band. For his love of freedom and commitment to rock music, he was expelled from the educational institution. From the age of 16, Jaak performed in various groups as a soloist and guitarist. At the same time, his first radio recordings appeared.
Creativity and career
1970 was marked by the victory of the performer in the Komsomol song competition, a year later - at the competition for young pop singers.
After demobilization from the army, the singer created his own group Lainer. All this time he has been participating in various competitions, winning and becoming the most popular singer in Estonia. Composers queue up to give their songs to Jaak. Joala was not only a performer of songs, but also masterly played many musical instruments. He also works in the Radar group, whose popularity goes far beyond the borders of Estonia.
In 1975 a young musician won the famous competition for young performers in Sopot. He was even offered to work with British producers. But Jaak refuses - there is still an “iron curtain” in Estonia.
From that moment on, the singer's career became impetuous. He was offered to collaborate by eminent Soviet composers: Tukhmanov, Zatsepin and Raymond Pauls. New songs appear that instantly become hits: "I paint", "Love chooses us", "I'll pick up music". Yaak Yola is becoming very popular in the Soviet Union. He is constantly shown on the Central Channels.
The musician also acts in films as an actor. In 1979 he recorded songs for the film "June 31" and received wild success. Participates in the Song of the Year 1980. His songs are sung by the whole country.
In 1981, the singer was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Estonia. After the collapse of the USSR, Jaak was immediately ceased to be shown on Central Television, he settled in Tallinn. Since that time, the singer begins to teach at a music school, is engaged in production and social activities, and promotes young singers. The last time Jaak entered the stage was in 1996 with the trio Tõnis Mägi, Joala and Ivo Lynn. Then he moved from the capital to a farm and left music.
Personal life
The singer got married for the first time quite early and in 1974 the couple gave birth to their son Yanar. But at the age of 31 he meets his second future wife, with whom he has lived for more than 30 years. Since 2005, the artist has fallen ill. Heart problems occur. A series of blows: heart attacks, cerebral hemorrhage - and in 2014 Jaak Arnovich Joala dies.
