In order to apply to the embassy in writing, you must draw up a letter according to certain rules. Only a properly executed document will be considered, and only in this case you can count on a quick response.
Instructions
Step 1
Write a letter to any embassy in the national language of the required country or in international - English. If your foreign writing skills are poor, ask someone who knows the language to help you. The style of presentation should be as clear, concise and understandable as possible, there should be no grammatical errors in the text, as their presence will make a very unfavorable impression of you.
Step 2
There are application templates for almost every case, which can be viewed on the embassy's website. If the required sample is not there, write a letter in free form, observing only the general requirements. In the upper left corner, put the date of the appeal, then indicate the last name and first name of the person to whom you are writing and his position. Then enter the address of the embassy in the following sequence: street, house, city. Start the body of the letter with a message such as "Dear mr. Smith".
Step 3
On a new line, clearly state your request or describe the problem you encountered. After the text, put your full name, patronymic and last name, include your full home address and contacts, for example, a phone number or email address. Your personal signature must also be present. If you are writing by hand, make sure your text is as legible as possible. Remember that if you did not write down your full name or forgot to indicate the postal address with a zip code, then the letter will be recognized as anonymous and will not be answered, even if you put your contacts in the message.
Step 4
Send a letter to the postal or email address of the embassy. You can find it out on the website. For example, the address of the Portuguese Embassy looks like this: Secção Consular da Embaixada da Rússia

Step 5
As a rule, citizens' appeals are considered rather quickly, but if the question is very difficult, you can wait up to 30 days for an answer. Embassy staff may also contact you to ask any clarifying questions, so it is better to indicate in the letter your mobile phone number and the time when you can call.
