Pirates of the Caribbean is a film series produced by Walt Disney Studios. The idea of the first was born on the attraction of the same name in Disneyland Park. After the release of the picture in 2003, it became clear that the viewers liked the pirate theme, and the series was extended by two sequels at once. The romantic motion picture marked the beginning of piratomania in society, reviving interest in noble robbers and sea adventures.
Since the first film "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" was conceived separately from the rest, its plot is somewhat separate from the second and third parts, which were filmed at the same time and are one whole.
The first film, 2003
In The Curse of the Black Pearl, the main characters of the saga appear - the eccentric young pirate Jack Sparrow, the captain without a ship, the pirate's young son Will Turner, who is temporarily working as a blacksmith on Port Royal Island, and the brave beauty Elizabeth Swann, the daughter of the Governor of Port Royal.
The plot of the film is tied around the cursed gold of the Aztecs, which was once stolen by a team of pirates from the Black Pearl ship. Magic turned all the kidnappers into immortals, not dead, but not living either, and in order to get rid of this curse, it is necessary to return every single Aztec coin to the chest. As luck would have it, the last coin sailed away with little Will Turner in an unknown direction, and then passed on to Elizabeth.
In search of the coin, the immortal pirates attack Port Royal and capture the governor's beautiful daughter along with the coin. In pursuit of the beauty, Will Turner, who is in love with her, and Jack Sparrow, who have their own interest in regaining the status of the captain of the "Black Pearl", as a result of the rebellion passed to Barbossa, go in pursuit of the beauty.
The second film, 2006
The story of Aztec gold ends in the first film: Jack gets his ship back, Will and Elizabeth are about to get married. The second film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, begins a new storyline. Here, the East India Company acts as the antagonist, planning to clear the southern seas from pirates. For this, Lord Beckett begins the hunt for the wonderful compass of Jack Sparrow, which points to where its owner is striving.
But the compass is just a stage in a big plan. Taking possession of the compass, Lord Beckett plans to find the chest in which the real living heart of the captain of the "Flying Dutchman" Davey Jones beats. The function of the magic ship is to escort the souls of the dead to the next world, but as a result of a quarrel between its captain and his beloved, the sea goddess Calypso, the souls float on their own, the ship sows a storm, and Calypso is locked in a human body and cannot pacify the sea waves.
Cheerful Jack Sparrow has his own interest here too - he owes Davey Jones a hundred years of service on the Flying Dutchman, but is trying to buy off other people's lives. Will and Elizabeth find themselves in a whirlpool of events again, but love helps them to get around all obstacles and be together. In the end, the heart of Jones ends up with Lord Beckett, who thus plans to control the sea and methodically drown the pirates.
The third film, 2007
The third film "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" directly continues the intrigue tied in "Dead Man's Chest". Will Turner and Elizabeth must first rescue Jack Sparrow from a magical trap, and then organize the entire pirate brotherhood to fight Lord Beckett.
Since Beckett's strength lies in the power over Jones' heart, it is on him that the hunt begins again. The goddess Calypso is freed, an unprecedented storm rises at sea, two legendary ships converge in battle: the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman. By chance, the captain's heart is pierced by the mortally wounded Will Turner, which means that he must take his place.
With the right captain, things are going well - Lord Beckett is defeated, the armada of the East India Company turns back, the Flying Dutchman's crew is freed from the curse, and the souls of the dead are swimming in the right direction again. The finale of the trilogy is both sad and optimistic - Elizabeth is waiting on the banks of Will, which can only step on land once every ten years, and Jack Sparrow sets out to meet new adventures.
The fourth film, 2011
New adventures were shown in the fourth film "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides." In it, Will and Elizabeth are replaced by new heroes - the legendary captain Blackbeard and his daughter Angelica, with whom Jack Sparrow has a romantic relationship. They set off in search of the Fountain of Youth, trying to get ahead of the Spaniards in this matter. The plot of the film is a complete story and is not related to other parts of the saga.
The future of brave pirates
In 2016, the release of the fifth film of the pirate saga entitled "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" was announced. Perhaps it will be connected with the plot of the sixth, not yet named part, since the films are planned to be shot one after the other. The inimitable Jack Sparrow remains the main character.
