Biography

Tyler Joseph was born on December 1, 1988 in Columbus, in a family where his mother, Kelly Joseph, was a math teacher, and his father, Chris Joseph, was the headmaster and part-time coach of the school basketball team. The Joseph family was truly large and friendly. Tyler with his brothers Zach and Jay, often made fun of his sister - Madison. And the parents, deciding to appease his endless energy, sent him to the basketball section. Back then, no one would have thought that basketball hobby would lead to the fact that in 2008, the Worthington team, in which he was a playmaker, would take second place in Division IV. After this event, he receives an invitation from the University of Otterbein in training and payment of a sports scholarship. But unexpectedly for many, he declines the invitation. And there was a reason for that. Having attended the performance of composers in the High Street club, he was imbued with music with all his heart. Already in high school, he tries to compose a melody on a synthesizer, write lyrics and practice singing. And in 2009 he gathers a group of his high school friends Nick Thomas and Chris Salih.

Career

The first steps in Tyler Joseph's musical career were in 2007-2008. When he released his solo EP "No Phun Intended", which he was working on in the basement of his house. Later he will edit his songs from the solo album and include them in the group's album, but under different names.

In 2009, the band released their first self-titled album "Twenty One Pilots" and became a new name in the music world. The hits that took the first places in the charts were heard from everywhere. They began to be invited to radio and television, after which the first tour was organized, which took place in Ohio.

The group became very successful very quickly. But in 2011, unexpectedly for many fans, Chris and Nick leave her, explaining their departure with a busy schedule. Many were puzzled about what would happen to the group, but the schoolmates were replaced by the drummer of the House of Heroes - Josh Dan. In the same year, the group with a new line-up took part in the Columbus' Newport Music Hall show, which made most of the record companies want to collaborate with them. But in the end, preference was given to Atlantic Records, a subsidiary of Fueled by Ramen.

Personal life

For a long time, Tyler Joseph talked with Jenna Black, until he realized that they were connected by something more than friendship. And in the summer of 2014, he proposes to her.
