Chaldonian roots

According to the biography of Ivan Alexandrovich Pyriev, one can study the history of our country in the first half of the 20th century. The classic of Soviet cinema was born in the village of Kamen, Tomsk province on November 4, 1901. The family of Old Believers lived according to strict rules and the child was taught to work from an early age. When the boy was three years old, his father accidentally and foolishly died in a fight. Soon, the mother took the child and moved to the Mariinsk station to a small vegetable merchant, who took her as his wife.

Ivan's relationship with his stepfather did not work out. The situation in life is not uncommon. For the time being, he patiently endured reproaches, even physical punishment from the owner of the house. At fourteen years old, and Pyriev was already a tall guy, he gave a worthy rebuff to the domestic despot. By this time, the First World War was underway. Ivan sat down in the next train, which was heading towards the front, and left his native land. He fought. For bravery he received two crosses of St. George and two wounds. After the revolution, he definitely went over to the side of the Bolsheviks and enlisted in the Red Army.

The whirlwinds of the Civil War brought Pyriev to Yekaterinburg. In this city, he learned from his own experience how a theater studio lives and operates. And even for some time he played on stage, taking the pseudonym Altaysky. On the advice of more experienced colleagues, he moves to Moscow and joins in the turbulent life of the capital. He worked as an actor at the Proletkult Theater. I met Eisenstein and Meyerhold. Received a specialized education at the Experimental Theater Workshop. And in 1925 he began to engage in cinematography. Working as a screenwriter and director at different film studios brings Ivan not only fame, but also pleasure.

Laureate of the Stalin Prizes

A successful director's career begins after the release of the film "Party ticket". The painting was greeted with great approval by the public and the authorities. Pyryev accurately guesses the trends of the political situation. Skillfully selects performers and makes adjustments to the scripts. In the next tape "The Rich Bride" Marina Ladynina is approved for the main role. The director, in addition to professional relations, “breathes unevenly towards her,” although he is already married to actress Ada Voytsyk. After some hesitation, Ivan chooses Marina, his next love.

It should be noted that Pyriev's personal life did not evoke applause in the director's inner circle. Especially with actresses. Today it has already been calculated and recounted how many talented actresses the classic of Soviet cinema broke the life of. When a husband and wife work on the same set, no one has any objections. But if the actress got a decent role "through the bed", then all the people involved in the shooting experience discomfort. After twenty years of living together with Ladynina, Ivan Alexandrovich liked the young actress Lionella Skirda. Everything, more Marina Ladynina did not act in films - the master imposed a ban. And how many actresses who "did not give" to the director received from him a "wolf ticket" to the profession?

During his creative life, Ivan Pyriev has created many films that are made with talent and convincing. He received Stalin Prizes six times for his work. Until now, people of the older generation are happy to revise the paintings "Tractor Drivers", "Pig and Shepherd", "Kuban Cossacks", "The Tale of the Siberian Land", "Light of a Distant Star". This is not a complete list of the prolific director's work. He left a worthy legacy for the mastery of the current filmmakers.
