Ivan Ivanovich Okhlobystin was born on July 22, 1966 in the Tula region. Ivan's family of different ages had nothing to do with the environment of actors: a 62-year-old military doctor and a 19-year-old student of an engineer-economist, who later married a second time and gave birth to a brother to Ivan.
After graduating from school, the artist went to receive a director's education at VGIK, which he interrupted to serve in the army. After his restoration at the institute, he became an active public figure. Later he was elected secretary of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR.
Occasionally, the name Okhlobystin can be found in theatrical performances: "The villain, or the cry of the dolphin" and "Maximilian the Stylite" (Moscow Art Theater).
The actor auditioned for the role of a journalist and made several reports for the Stolitsa magazine, then moved on to work in the Vesti weekly.
In early 2001, it became known that Ivan was ordained a priest by the Archbishop of Tashkent and Central Asia Vladimir (Ikim) in the Tashkent diocese. However, the heat from Tashkent prevented Ivan from serving God and at the end of the year the family returned to Moscow. Finally, the actor graduated from the service in 2010, after an appeal to Patriarch Kirill about his dismissal from service.
Ivan Okhlobystin is the winner of many awards: 17 - for the best director, 9 - for a good acting, 21 - for the best scripts, 2 - for his political views. He is a frequent laureate of the Kinotavr Film Festival.
In 2012, he even planned to run for President.
Personal life
Love for life flared up to one woman - the actress Oksana Arbuzova (the star of the movie "The accident is the daughter of a cop"). Since 1995, Ivan has officially become her husband. Together with his wife, they created a large family (six children). The first child is the daughter of Anfisa (1996). The youngest in the family was the son of Savva (2006).

The debut of the star of the screen was the picture of 1983 "I promise to be!". In 1991 he got the main role in the film "Leg", for which he received a prize at the "Youth-1991" festival. Ivan's roles were different: a bandit (Mom, Don't Cry, 1997), a sailor (Midlife Crisis, 1997), a professor (Maximilian, 1999), a driver, a doctor, a lecturer - acting versatility manifested itself in all of Ivan's works. In the period 2001-2009, Ivan practically did not act in films. Only the 2007 Conspiracy. But by 2009 he returned to the set, tk. there was an acute shortage of money in the family. "Bullet-Fool", "Tsar", "Fig Ro" - these are the outstanding works of that period. Later, from 2010 to 2016, he starred in the role of Dr. Bykov in the TV series "Interns", where he fit in perfectly with the medical stories he heard from his father. In total, Ivan the actor can be seen in more than 50 films. He never disdained small, episodic roles. The last work is the role of Alexander's father in the film Temporary Difficulties (2018).
Screenwriter career
Since 1991, the actor has tried himself as a screenwriter. Okhlobystin's "freak" was even nominated for the "Green Apple, Golden Leaf" award. The favorite films of the audience, in which Ivan wrote stories, also became: "DMB", "Scavenger", "Paragraph 78", "Moscow, I love you" - more than 20 films in total. The last work as a screenwriter took place in 2016 in the film "Moth".
Director's career
The first works as a director were the short films “Nonsense. A Story about Nothing "and" Wave Breaker "(course work at VGIK). These works won the International Film Festival in the USA and were also awarded the Audience Award at the Potsdam Youth Film Festival. They were followed by work on the film "The Arbiter", where Ivan acted as a director, screenwriter and performer of one of the main roles. For this work, he received the Kinotavr award in the Films for the Elite category.
