If an actress has only a few movie roles, as a rule, viewers will soon forget her. However, Evgenia Glushenko is an exception.
She played only twenty-seven movie roles - this is not much, but she is remembered. Because there is one role that cannot be forgotten - the librarian Vera, who is in love with a random fellow traveler in the film "In love at will". For this work, at the Berlin Film Festival, Evgenia received the Silver Bear prize for Best Actress. Her partner was the then already famous Oleg Yankovsky, their acting duet was great.
But before that there was a role in the film "Unfinished Piece for a Mechanical Piano", where Glushenko splendidly played the role of Sasha. This role made her famous.
And as a child, little Zhenya did not even think about the theater. Her hometown is Rostov-on-Don, where she began her first steps towards acting. Parents sent her to a theater group so that the girl could overcome her innate shyness and insecurity. Zhenya was so carried away that she disappeared in the House of Pioneers all her free time.
But after school, she did not dare to enter the theater - she was not confident in her abilities. And only thanks to a serious conversation with the head of the theater group, she submitted documents to the theater institute of her native city and entered the first time. And after the first year I decided to go to Moscow, and there I already applied to almost all theatrical universities. And then - study at the school. Shchepkin and his graduation in 1974.
Career in theater
Finished her studies at "Shchepka", and Moscow theaters began to invite students, but Evgenia received no offers. She was already going home and wanted to give up her career as an actress, but received an invitation to the Maly Theater. At the same time, she was expected at the Kostroma Theater, but Evgenia chose Maly because there was an interesting role - Liza in Woe From Wit.
This role was followed by others, no less interesting, in performances based on the classics "The Feast of the Winners", "Wolves and Sheep", "The Imaginary Sick" and others. Glushenko left the Maly Theater for a short time, but returned and continues to work here.
In 1995, Evgenia Glushenko received the high title: People's Artist of Russia.

Personal life
As often happens in the life of actors, Eugenia's acquaintance with her future husband happened during the filming. Alexander Kalyagin played the role of an admirer of Glushenko's heroine in the film "Unfinished Piece for a Mechanical Piano", but it turned out that he really fell in love. He alone raised his daughter Ksyusha from his first marriage, and did not want to get married so as not to offend the girl. However, the daughter herself became attached to Evgenia, and soon Kalyagin and Glushenko got married. Soon they had a son, Denis.
Both Ksenia and Denis were educated in the United States, but Denis returned to Russia, now he is making a career as a journalist.
In 2008, the couple divorced due to rumors of Kalyagin's betrayal, now Evgenia Glushenko lives with her son. She no longer acts in films, she gives all her time to the theater.
