Biography

Rashida Leah Jones was born in Los Angeles in 1976, the son of a music producer and actress. The Jones family is quite large: they raised six children. Her mother is Jewish, so Rashida had to observe Jewish traditions. However, at the age of ten, she decided that she herself would choose what to believe in and what God to worship. Later, she said that she had the right to be outside of religion, since her father is African American and she can study his culture too.

She moved from a Jewish school to a regular one, and then studied at the Buckley Preparatory School, where Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton studied with her.

After graduating from high school, Jones entered Harvard University to pursue an education in religion and philosophy. At the university, there was an opportunity to study singing and acting as an option, which Rashida did with great pleasure.

To her surprise, she realized that she liked standing on stage and creating images of different people much more than studying thick volumes of ancient sciences, although there were also many interesting things there.

It so happened that while still at Harvard, she played the first role in the project "The Last Don" (1997). Her work was liked by both the audience and the creators of the series, and soon the aspiring actress received an invitation to the next project, then to another. And then it became clear that she would be in demand as an artist.

Film career

In 2000, Jones began acting in the television series Boston School. Here, according to the plot, the teachers of the Boston law school literally survived in a situation of relations with almost unmanageable students and at the same time solved their personal problems. Rashida played Louise Fenn in the project, who was involved in most of the episodes, so she was remembered by the audience. The young actress was also noticed by critics, and for this role she was nominated for the NAACP Image Awards.
