Lewis Brian Hopkin Jones is a renowned British musician, multi-instrumentalist, backing vocalist and founder of the legendary rock band The Rolling Stones.
Biography
The future musician was born in the midst of World War II, on February 28, 1942 in the British county of Gloucestershire. This period of life for the Jones family turned out to be extremely difficult and tragic, in addition to the fact that they had to regularly hide in shelters from Nazi bombings, the newborn son was diagnosed with asthma. In addition, in 1946, the Jones' two-year-old daughter died, suffering from leukemia since birth.
Despite such difficulties, Jones's parents were very fond of music and actively engaged in it, his father played the organ in the church choir, and his mother taught at school. This largely played a role in the upbringing of his son. From an early age, Jones loved to listen to music, and at fourteen he began to play the clarinet.
At school, Jones studied well and was distinguished by a calm character and discipline. But over time, he began to understand that school education is in many ways like a dictatorship and all the established rules are just instruments of pressure on students. In high school, he became an active rebel, violated everything that could be violated. Nevertheless, studies were easy for him and he calmly passed all the necessary exams. The school management nevertheless found an excuse for expelling Jones, and in 1959 he was expelled in disgrace.
Musical career
In 1961, Brian traveled to London, where he met representatives of the nascent rock movement in Britain. In the spring of 1962, he met Ian Stewart and Mick Jager, with whom he formed the legendary rock band. According to the band members, it was Jones who came up with the name The Rolling Stones.
The huge success that came to the group in 1963 had a very negative impact on Brian. He was already not distinguished by exemplary behavior, but with the recognition of the crowd, he began to drink more and more and even became addicted to drugs. Regular binges could not help but affect the productivity of the talented guitarist, and most of the band members condemned this behavior. In 1968, the collective's patience snapped, the smoldering conflict turned into an active phase, as a result, Jones left the group.
Personal life
Brian Jones, like most inveterate rockers, was an extremely reckless and hooligan person. He was in no hurry to burden himself with a permanent relationship and it is almost impossible to connect him with someone specific. In a fairly short life, Jones had several children from different women.
Brian died at the age of twenty-seven in an accident, he fell into a street pool in a state of extreme alcoholic intoxication and drowned. There are also versions that the death of the famous guitarist is not accidental and most likely he was killed. However, this version does not find any solid evidence.
