Early years
Larisa Dolina was born on September 10, 1955 in the city of Baku. Her father, Alexander Markovich Kudelman, was a Jew by nationality, and a builder by profession. Larisa's mother, Galina Izrailevna (maiden name Dolina), worked as a typist. Later, Larisa decided to change her surname Kudelman to Dolina - her mother's maiden name - considering it more harmonious.
The girl's musical abilities were manifested at an early age. She possessed perfect pitch, good musical memory and a strong beautiful voice.
When Larisa was 2, 5 years old, the family moved to Odessa, where her maternal grandmother lived. Living conditions there were rather difficult; they lived in a communal apartment for a long time. At the age of 6, the girl was sent to a music school, from which she graduated in cello. A year later, on the seventh birthday of Larisa, the first musical instrument appeared in the family: the piano of the "Red October" company. As a child, in addition to her passion for music, Larisa really liked foreign languages, and she even thought about a career as a translator. But the years passed and the natural talent for music prevailed over linguistic abilities.
Valley's musical taste was formed when she sang the Beatles repertoire, and her first teachers in jazz were Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, and, of course, Billie Halliday.
While still at school, Larisa was already singing in restaurants in Odessa. In the 9th grade, she accidentally got to the audition, to the place of the soloist of the "Volna" ensemble and was accepted. With great difficulty, she managed to leave school and become an artist of the Odessa Philharmonic. I had to finish school in absentia.
Career and creativity
After deafening popularity in Odessa, Dolina received an offer to work in Yerevan and perform in the musical group "Armina". Parents were against it, but the girl left Odessa and moved to live in Armenia. The four years I spent there were a difficult period. Often I had to sit without a penny of money. Subsequently, she was a soloist in such musical groups as the "State Pop Orchestra of Armenia" under the direction of Konstantin Orbelian, "State Pop Ensemble of Azerbaijan" under the direction of Polad Bul-Bul Oglu.
A real success for Larisa's creativity was her acquaintance with Anatoly Kroll (director of the Sovremennik orchestra), who immediately noticed the singer's jazz voice. Then, Larisa compiled an individual jazz program "Anthology of Jazz Vocal", with which she performed in different parts of the Soviet Union and became popular as a pop and jazz singer. In the mid-80s, the artist changed her repertoire, replacing jazz with pop music. Larisa moves to Leningrad, where she works independently, with her team and the following show programs:
1985 "Long Leap"
1987 "Contrasts"
