Starting conditions
When they say about a person that he is a talented artist or composer, then this or that work is a confirmation of this. Centuries of experience show that natural abilities are manifested in any area of human activity. The famous tale of how Lefty shod a flea has real reasons. Nikolai Fedorovich Makarov was not engaged in blacksmithing, but he loved and knew how to work with machines and mechanisms. Observation, tenacious mind, eye level and endurance allowed him to create effective weapons.
The future gunsmith engineer was born on May 22, 1914 in a working class family. Parents lived at the Sasovo district railway station in the Ryazan region. My father worked as a locomotive driver. The mother kept the household and raised the children. The boy grew and developed in no way standing out among his peers. I went to school on time. After the fifth grade, I decided to enter a factory school, where they trained specialists for the railway. Having mastered the specialty of a locksmith, he came to work at the locomotive depot.
Professional activity
Repair and maintenance of steam locomotives is a responsible business. Makarov quickly got used to the workplace and established himself as a proactive worker. Within a few months, Nikolai proposed to facilitate the operation of replacing bearings with a simple device. Then he made a number of rationalization proposals. After that, he was respected by experienced workers with extensive work experience. Having listened to the urgent advice of senior comrades, Makarov went to the city of gunsmiths Tula and entered the Polytechnic Institute.
The war prevented Makarov from completing his education in a timely manner. From the fifth year he was sent to the city of Zagorsk, to a small arms factory. In wartime conditions, the young specialist showed a high level of competence and organizational skills. With his submission, the assembly technology of the legendary PPSh assault rifle improved. In 1944 Nikolai Fedorovich returned to Tula. He defended his diploma and began to work in the design bureau of an arms factory. After the end of the war, Makarov presented a sample of a pistol of his own design for a competition held by the Ministry of Defense.
