Pelageya

The Pelageya group enjoys success among connoisseurs of folk music. She sings romances, Russian folk songs and author's compositions in folk style from the soloist of the group - a girl who is also called Pelageya. This is her real name. A singer from Novosibirsk, whose talent manifested itself in early childhood, Pelageya won a number of prestigious awards and competitions that promised her a musical career in any vocal genre that she chose. The girl chose folk-rock music and founded her own musical group. She quickly became a star, but, despite this, she does not try to behave somehow in a special starry way. Always following her conviction, Pelageya managed to win the true love of the audience.

Kalinov Bridge

"Kalinov Most" is a famous group, whose Slavic folk-orientation was manifested at the very beginning of the creative path. The soloist and ideological founder of the group Dmitry Revyakin is from Novosibirsk, but he spent most of his childhood in Transbaikalia. Until now, these places inspire the leader of Kalinov Most more than others. The music performed by this group is so unusual and original that it is not always possible to "fit" it into the framework of the genre, but nevertheless, critics most often define it as folk-rock. A rather clear bias towards Cossack songs and Slavic mythology can be traced.

There are bands that perform Slavic folk all the time, this is their main genre. But there are also quite a few groups that try to bring one album closer to folk, like an experiment.

Ivan Kupala

Quite an unusual musical group, which is inspired by folk Slavic and Russian motives in electronic processing. A unique feature of "Ivan Kupala" is that the musicians use in their recordings authentic folklore, which was collected in the 70-80s by Soviet lovers of folk art. The group deservedly enjoys great love of the audience; it regularly performs at the largest festivals and open-airs of the country.

Bugotak

A Siberian musical group that plays exclusively ethnic and folk music. In their work, the musicians rely on Siberian folk songs, using not only Slavic motives, but also East Turkic ones. We must not forget that the peoples of Russia are very different, Russian ancient history is not only Slavs.

Rusichi

"Rusichi" is a group that plays, probably, the closest to Slavic music. Musicians restore old instruments, study recordings of ancient Russian music, and are also interested in improvisation. Their Muse is pure folklore, which is why fans of their work love it.

The music of the Rusichi ensemble was used in such films as The Quiet Don by S. Bondarchuk and The Barber of Siberia by N. Mikhalkov.

"Rusichi" are popular not only in their native country, they are listened to all over the world. They perform in folk costumes, during concerts they often act out scenes from the life of the past.
