G. A. Matveychuk was born in the capital of Russia on June 26, 1981. His father is a production designer who is a member of the Union of Cinematographers of the country, winner of prestigious cinematographic awards. Mom is a make-up artist, the daughter of a prominent military leader. At an early age, Gleb and his family moved from Moscow to Minsk.
The boy was eight years old when he was brought to the studio of the Bolshoi Theater: the child was carried away by singing.
