Step 1
The first step towards citizenship is obtaining a temporary residence permit in Russia. The issued permit will be valid until the receipt of the residence permit.
Step 2
Step two - obtaining a residence permit. To obtain this document, the applicant must have lived in Russia for at least a year. A residence permit is issued by the territorial management body of the Federal Migration Service, for 6 months before the expiration of the period of temporary residence in our country.
Step 3
Step three becomes available to the applicant only after 5 years from the date of receipt of the residence permit. This step is to obtain Russian citizenship. Citizenship can be obtained in a general and simplified manner, that is, with a reduction in the period of compulsory residence in the territory of the Russian Federation.
Step 4
The second method of obtaining citizenship applies to persons who have been married to a citizen of the Russian Federation for at least 3 years, were born on the territory of the RSFSR or the USSR, have a minor child, a citizen of the Russian Federation, whose second parent has died or is declared incapacitated. Individuals falling under these categories can apply for citizenship without waiting for the end of the state-set deadline. This term can also be reduced for persons with high achievements in the field of science and culture (the term is reduced to 1 year) and military personnel after three years of contract service.
Step 5
In both cases, you must provide the following documents: passport and its notarized copy; copies of birth certificates of children; copy of marriage certificate; completed application form in duplicate; renunciation of the previous citizenship (the original is sent to the appropriate embassy, a copy is provided to the migration service of the Russian Federation); 4 photos 3, 4x4, 5 mm; death certificate or deprivation of parental rights of the second spouse, if any; a document confirming knowledge of the Russian language at a level sufficient for oral and written communication; receipts for payment of state fees; residence; a document confirming the presence of a legal source of income.
Step 6
Only a competent and respectful approach to observing all the rules established by the Russian Federation will make it possible to legally obtain Russian citizenship.
