Joseph Stalin is the greatest personality of the 20th century, the "father of nations" or a traitor, a great ruler or a person who committed genocide of his own people. Historians and contemporaries cannot give an unambiguous assessment of the time of the reign of this man, who died only because his subordinates were afraid to help him.

Joseph Vissarionovich Dzhugashvili, who took the pseudonym Stalin during the revolutionary years, was born on December 21, 1879 in Georgia. In the twenties of the 20th century, he led the party of the Central Committee and established a totalitarian regime in the camp.

Many consider him a dictator and a cruel man, but it cannot be written off that it was Stalin who led the USSR to victory in World War II, helped the country to withstand and restore its former greatness after it.

Disease

The first attack occurred in Stalin in 1953, on the first of March. On this day, the leader was found unconscious at his dacha in Kuntsevo - his official residence in the post-war years. The frightened personal doctor could not admit for a long time that the leader had a stroke, but on March 2 he diagnosed and admitted paralysis of the right side of the body.

On that day, he no longer got up, only sometimes raised his left hand, as if asking for help, but help still did not come. A number of historians are inclined to believe that it was not only fear that prevented the assistance to Stalin. Khrushchev, Beria, Malenkov - they were all interested in the early death of the leader.

Death

According to the official version, the guards who found Stalin on the floor of the small dining room had no right to call a doctor without receiving Beria's orders. That night, all forces were thrown into his search, and after 10 hours, having received permission from Beria, doctors nevertheless arrived, and the next day Joseph Vissarionovich suffered a stroke. However, there is documentary evidence that Beria knew from the evening about the grave condition of the leader, but deliberately was playing for time. Moreover, the doctors who treated Stalin were arrested, and the nurse who injected the painkiller was hastily taken from the dacha in an unknown direction.

On March 5, Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin died. The whole country plunged into mourning. Thousands of people came to say goodbye to the leader. On March 9, Stalin was buried in the Lenin Mausoleum, which was later named the Lenin-Stalin Mausoleum. The body of the leader rested in the mausoleum until 1961.

Acting politicians are buried near the Kremlin wall. Those who were in disgrace or already retired did not receive such an honor. Stalin is perhaps the exception.

Subsequently, anti-Stalinist sentiments developed in the country, revolutionary ideas came and Stalin was convicted, his body was taken out of the Mausoleum and reburied near the Kremlin wall. This memorial cemetery has been home to prominent politicians and communist leaders since 1917. There are also two mass graves of those who perished during the October Revolution: one grave begins at the Spassky Gate, the second at Nikolsky.
