A distant start

Yuri Gorobets was born on March 15, 1932 in a working class family. Parents at that time lived in the city of Ordzhonikidze. Father went to the front and died a heroic death. The boy stayed with his mother. They were lucky - the enemy was unable to capture the city where they lived. However, during the next bombing of residential areas, Yuri received a concussion and began to stutter badly. This speech impairment made the daily life of the teenager very difficult. Gorobets studied well at school. There were not enough stars from the sky. He persistently studied in a drama studio and gradually got rid of stuttering. Being engaged in creativity, Gorobets learned a large number of poems, poems and excerpts in prose.
The path to recognition
After school, Yuri took part in the All-Union competition of amateur performances. He took first place in the nomination of readers and received an incentive for admission to the famous GITIS. Having received a specialized education, he went on assignment to serve in the Yaroslavl Academic Drama Theater. Two years later, he and his wife transferred to Odessa.
Yuri Vasilyevich's professional career was developing quite successfully. In 1961, the actor moved to the capital at the invitation of the director of the Moscow Drama Theater. Ten years within the walls of this temple of arts flew by like one day. But it's time to part. For objective reasons, Gorobets moved to the Mayakovsky Theater. And here the actor has served almost "top ten". From 1989 to the present day, his work record is kept at the Moscow Art Theater.
