Yuri Buida began his career as a correspondent in Kaliningrad. Later he moved to the capital of Russia, where he continued to work with the media. In the early 90s of the last century, Buida tried his hand at serious literature, publishing a number of prose works.

The future writer and journalist was born in the village of Znamensk in the Kaliningrad region. His date of birth is August 29, 1954. After graduating from Kaliningrad University, Buida worked in the media. He worked his way up from an ordinary photojournalist of a district newspaper to a deputy editor-in-chief of a regional publication. The experience gained in journalism became a good basis for Buida's future prose works.
In 1991, Yuri Vasilievich moved to Moscow. He worked in the Rossiyskaya Gazeta”, in“Nezavisimaya Gazeta”, in the popular magazines“Znamya”and“Novoye Vremya”. He was a columnist for Izvestia. After that he became editor of the publishing house "Kommersant".

In 2013, the writer received the third prize in the framework of the Big Book project for the book Thief, Spy and Murderer.
Yuri Buida's books are published in Great Britain, France, Poland, Hungary, Estonia, Norway, Spain, Slovakia and Turkey. Some of his literary sketches formed the basis for the performances of the capital's theater Et cetera and the Kaliningrad Theater D.
